i would give much to get the real number from a reliably source (which is the WT database itself i guess).
but even if its stamped and sealed by the WT president himself with a personal letter from him stating that this is truth most of the witnesses would be sure its a lie. *sighs*
even i dont know for sure whether is it true. i dont recognized a pedophile in my congregations yet. but i guess thats point of hiding them from public?!
i would pay for being a fly on the wall sometimes.

i found it always hard to find information from non-ex-witnesses about the society. worldy ppl dont care much about the society. and even if you find something from non-ex-witnesses most JWs dont believe it. its like: "if its against the JWs its from apostates and apostates lie".
lets face it: all critical infos are lies in a witness brain. there is no golden key to free a JW from his brainprison. i experienced that very well on myself - scary.
i hope you can find what you search!! -

Parthogenesis: How do creationists explain this?
by Crumpet ini read this article in the paper on the train to work this morning (helped to keep me eyes of ladies feet and ankles) and was amazed as i never knew this before.. http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=50123&in_page_id=34.
certain species can actually get pregnant and give birth without any make interaction.
if this doesnt support evolution as the most scientifically accountable theory of our existence what does?!.

is atheism better than believing in a god who doesnt care?
by theinfamousone inso here's a sincere question... and instead of pressing my frustrations and blaming god and bla bla bla... i decided that instead of writing letters to an inactive god, i would ask your opinion!!!!!.
here's the question, looking at the world around you, seeing all the pain and frustration, the death and disease, the war and hypocricy, the starvation and disgust; generally seeing that our world is falling apart... if someone were able to irrevocably prove that there was a god, an intelligent creator is you will, would you want to worship him?
if he was there and created all of this just to watch it all implode, would you be able to respect that?

if god really exists and has the power to change thinks i dont think we should judge him.
the JW has a possibly answer why he does not interfer in our times. could be this way in my opinion.
if he REALLY exists we cant judge him. its like an dog judges an human. the dog just doesnt have the picture, why humans do some things. like why we take them to the doctor, when the doctor only does "bad" things to them. for a dog it does not make any sense and if he could philosphy about it he might think thats humans act very unrighteous... if not evil.
and lets face it: if he has created us and hes the most powerful being of all time... he has the right to do whatever he wants. he created everything, even the laws which define what we're thinking. he has the right to dump us into the sun. like you've the right to burn the picture you painted.
thats just my opinion. im very much agnostic. -

If Creationism is true explain races.
by DeViL DriVeR 76 inso the bible speaks of how multiple languages came to be in babylon with the tower of babel, you all know the story.
ok so thats the bibles view on languages but what about races?

Beneficial mutations
A very small percentage of all mutations actually have a positive effect. These mutations lead to new versions of proteins that help an organism and its future generations better adapt to changes in their environment. For example, a specific 32 base pair deletion in human CCR5 (CCR5-32) confers HIV resistance to homozygotes and delays AIDS onset in heterozygotes.[1] The CCR5 mutation is more common in those of European descent. One theory for the etiology of the relatively high frequency of CCR5-32 in the European population is that it conferred resistance to the bubonic plague in mid-14th century Europe.[2]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutation#Beneficial_mutations
if there occurs NO beneficial mutation how can it be that bacteria can develop resistance against NEW antibiotica (i.e.)? if there would be ONLY natural selection there needs to be at least ONE bacteria who is already resistant (or carrys the gene to be resistant in its genotype). speak: every resistance MUST be already coded in the genes. even complete new hazards needs to be precalculated and stored in the genes. how likely is that?
for me it looks like beneficial mutation is proven enough. i dont know really, because as i said im not working in that field and know how strong is the proof. but i know that the evidence that it does NOT occur is very weak and unlikely (at least to me). its like saying "it was never proven that there is NO cockroach on the back of the moon sitting under some dirty lil' rock and singing madonna songs - so its probably there!" every logic says that it is VERY unlikely to find that cockroach there - its not smart to believe that.
beneficial mutations dont conflict with the bible btw. -

New Stupid Assembly Rules
by WTWizard ini have heard on this discussion board numerous rules that apply to upcoming a$$emblies.
some are designed to stop people from meeting the opposite sex; others, to make sure everyone is always ready to recruit new members into the scam.
i heard that some km inserts have been urging those whose congregation has cleaning assignments to sit in the section that they are assigned to clean.

i didnt heard anything about this "new" rules. are they supposed to be announced somewhere in the future? 2,4,5 are commonly suggested since as long as i can think of, but arent real laws i believe. the other rules i never heard about.
