The day I lost my fear that the bible was the ONLY book inspired of God (and ergo, by leaving JWs I was leaving God and the Bible - and I've moved on from fear, but that was part of the process) was the day I discovered that the major proverbs/beliefs, etc - had all been in existence and written down thousands of years before the bible.
Take for example, the golden rule (to bring my post back on topic - grin), which I think has enormous value. Observe:
