For those of you attending college now (or at least recently have)....
by 2pink inplease remind me what the work load is like.
i went to college and took a few classes in my early 20s, and found it all very easy, but i had a lot less responsibility back then so i think my perception was skewed.
now i am 31, married, 2 kids, soon to be 3. i work very part time from home.

I agree with everyone else; it can absolutely be done and Yay for going back! But yes, that 2-3 hours of extra time per credit hour is pretty accurate. I am working on a BA and am a full-time student - 4-5 classes is pretty reasonable. Also, keep in mind that some of the online colleges can be just as expensive if not more so as traditional brick&mortar schools. I've got alot of information (I'm working on a book about going back to school as an older student) so if feel free to PM me with any questions!

Good heavens. Fairly quivering with excitement, weren't they? When will these governments learn that the best way to defeat the JWs is to ignore them? Then (like the U.S.) they will get nice and lazy and complacent. This kind of thing just unites them in excitement against the Persecution.

To Ex-JWs: Do You Regret Learning it Was a Lie?
by leavingwt inthis question was inspired by a question on another thread.
to the ex-jw community here,.
do any of you regret learning that wt is not god's organization?
-

No, I don't regret it at all. I will never go back. I wish I had found out years sooner.

For those who researched 607...
by AwSnap indid you use wt dates as well as things found from a secular perspective?
if a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong?
or does the wtbs *make* the dates add up...?

You know...I suddenly had a thought. Do you think that maybe Scholar is actually an ex-JW (or anti-JW) who posts stuff like this to deliberately illustrate how lacking the JW reasoning really is? I mean, he/she just says the same thing over and over and the catchphrase "celebrated JW scholars" has become a huge joke. Maybe he/she is making the point that JWs are ridiculously dogmatic, ignore clearly presented evidence, don't reason on the facts, and don't think for themselves - by posing as an example. Just wondering...

Oh heck no. Just print off some of the stickers with the jwn website addy and the silent lambs website and put them all over the mags. Then display them prominently. They will either grab them and run (and maybe check out the sites) or stop coming by. I'd also leave out a copy of Crisis of Conscience.

As someone who used to be a True Believer and subjected myself to one of these humiliating and devastating JCs, I urge you to look at the other side of this. Rather than all of us salivating at what "juicy" details might be uncovered or rubbing our hands with glee at "exposing" the organization, perhaps think of the victims? I would be DEVASTATED if I came online and found the notes from JC freely available - whether my name was redacted or not. It would be like being emotionally raped all over again. Please think long and hard about the potential emotional and mental harm this could do to ones who think this things are buried. One stash of elder's notes is not going to bring down this organization.

Not sure how to handle this one
by Heartbreaker inone of my children was a twin.
i'm hoping that by stating this, i'm not giving too much of my identity away, but here i go anyway.. one child a twin, only survivor.
it was always told to this kid that the twin would maybe be met in the "new system".

Not sure how to explain this....you know how we always looked down on "worldly" people b/c they lied to their kids about Santa being real? And then when you're out, you find out it isn't that big of a deal to the kids b/c they naturally "get it"? This is kind of like Santa. At some point, you'll need to have the conversation (and sounds like it might be now) that it isn't real, but it is a really nice story to help people behave but when they get older they don't need "Santa" (i.e. the fantasy New Order) to behave.
