Thank you mrsjones5! :)
pjs: I didn't start the forum nor do I own it so I cannot tell you why the owner named it as it is named. Does it matter what it is called in light of your organization's directives? See #'s 1, 2 and 3 of original post. And misleading??? Sorry - I'm laughing now. I don't think any of us pretend this is something it is not. We are very open about our experiences and our beliefs.
Furthermore, I am happy to speak with xians, wiccans, muslims, jews, or jws, all of whom post here. Frankly, I don't care if you post here or not. I do care, when you or A/E (or anyone else) try to justify your own disobedience to who you believe to be Jehovah's organization with fatuous comments of self-justification like - "this is a JW forum" when it CLEARLY is not run by, sponsored by, or sanctioned by the JW organization. I believe that is called "hypocrisy".

Then, frankly, AE, they are out of line with the organization who values conformity and "unity" above all else - nor - do I actually believe it to be true. I would prefer independent confirmation, over the word of someone who has consistently proven NOT to be in step with the organization nor following its directives...and I'm not sure how's that's "WOT" since YOU brought it up and I was answering you. My original post was on topic to specifically address the FALSE contention that this is a JW forum.

Isaacaustin - oh absolutely. That's why I specifically just put what was on paper. You and I both know that's not what happens in practice. As any one with any perceptive powers knows, that deadly JW phrase "a true lover of Jehovah would (or would not)" actually means - if you do this and are caught out, you are totally screwed. Nevertheless, since that's been pointed out over and over and over and over again on this forum and certain ones retreat back to what's "on paper" I phrased it that way.
AE - Do your research in your organization's publications. Beards? No, I don't think so. Not if a brother wants to be a brother "in good standing." Mustaches, however, are a matter of "personal conscience". And I don't think anyone has ever said the "white shirts" was written down - that was definitely a cultural attitude (and in many cases, a generational thing). But "in relationship to the kingdom" that's fairly petty. Putting yourself between a believer and Christ as the mediator? Making policies that cost lives and then later reversing those polices? Reading and intepreting more into the scriptures than what is there? THAT'S not so petty.

Ok. I'm not sure how to make this any clearer for Angel Eyes and pjschipper...
1. This is NOT a forum run by Jehovah's Witnesses. It is in no way associated with or supported by the Jehovah's Witness organization.
2. Your organization specifically has asked its members not to run forums for JWs. In fact, it proactively goes after them and tries to shut them down, if at all possible.
3. Your presence here (nod to Angel Eyes in her excrutiatingly EXACT interpretation) is not forbidden by your organization. Instead it is strongly discouraged. A "truly strong and spiritual Jehovah's Witness" would not be on here and would not be associating or conversing with known apostates. Period.
4. We have already been witnessed too or, worse, were in the Jehovah's Witness cult. Therefore, if you truly believe your own organization's directives, go and preach to those who have not heard the "good news" so that the end can FINALLY come. Geez, the two of you could be making the end come later with all the time you're wasting here!
5. And yes, JWs ARE allowed to post here and because WE do not shun, we actually welcome almost everyone (trolls and generally obnoxious and offensive posters excluded.) Therefore, you can and probably will (for no reason I personally understand) continue to post. Guess what? That's actually ok. But, please, can you just cut out the bulls**t?

ethical question - maybe you can help
by besty inthis is hypothetical, but it must happen and i don't recall it being addressed before on jwn.
we are df'd about 2 years now.
our jw friends shunned us.. if one such friend now reaches out to contact us that would surely be a good thing, yes?

Wavvy said exactly what I thought...you don't know the circumstances and in a JW mindset, this person may very well have felt that this was the only way out. Perhaps the trauma and disconnecting from marriage, family, friends may help them open their minds as well. I would be supportive - you can always have a heart to heart talk LATER if you feel you need to extricate. To cut a person off without knowing all of the cirumstances is just as judgmental and unloving as WTS shunning (IMHO). If, as time goes on, your personal feelings and ethics tell you that you need to end the friendship and support, that's fine. But to not offer it simply because there was adultery - well...with JWs, you just never know WHY. (you might, hypothetically, know why and so that would certain change things - I'm generalizing).

MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS DIED
by Mary inthis is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.

OH Mary - was so hoping for a different outcome. It is easy to see how much you and your family loved him and I am sure he knew it. My condolences on your loss.
