I'm so thrilled......please congratulate me
by quietlyleaving ini got 85% in my first assignment - arts and humanities and i enjoyed every minute of it.. the best part is that my jdub hubby and i have new enjoyable interests in common as we have found that we both like visitng art galleries and other leisure activities.. thank you all for helping me get here so quickly.
of course that isn't to say that everything is all plain sailing (far from it) but its nice to feel out of the woods!.

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

It's a cold gloomy day here also - so I feel your pain I hope your day get's better or at least you can get home to your bed ASAP!
Well 2 days till Turkey day, I finally finished all my shopping so the only thing left is to start cooking. I won't start that until tomorrow night, It doesn't take me long to cook and I don't like to start too many things the day before. I feel like I'm eating left overs if I cook it the night before I'm ok with the prep work and of course the sweet potato pies.
This sounds crazy but I have to make 7 pies! One each for my hubby, and each kid that's 3 and the other four for dinner guests. My nephew will probably try to hide 1 to take home with him. Last year I made him one and he wouldn't even share with his wife and kids Maybe I should make her one this year!
I know I won't be on the computer much after tomorrow so just in case I want to wish everone a Happy Turkey day, enjoy it and most of all enjoy the family and friends you will be with as this is the real reason to give Thanks to whomever or whatever.

My 1 year anniversary on JWD was Thursday...

If your God were in charge...
by nvrgnbk inwhat would the world be like?.
for example, today orthodox jews and christians don't kill witches and homosexuals because they can't legally.. but if things were as their god decreed in the bible, they'd be dead.. islam, when it has enough power to enforce it's laws, summarily kills and dismembers those that offend allah.. so if you're unhappy with all the gays and druggies and atheists and witches and hippies, are you secretly longing for the day when your deity of choice exterminates them?.

A New Kitten . . . (Katie Kitten)

katie kitten (louise) text me last night at 11.30pm to tell me to tell you all she's had a litter of one.
a little boy, josef jack, 8lb 14oz, born 5.55am on nov 15th.. she apparently had a long and somewhat rough time of it and is gonna be in hospital a day or two.. i'll be the first to say congratulations.
