Sour Grapes
A corporation expands from using the profits they have made. A company does not go to its workers to ask for money to expand unless some percentage of ownership is givenAny percentage of zero is still.......ZERO. which is where WTBTS is hopefully headed.

The Governing Body Doing The Math As Corporate CEOs
by Brokeback Watchtower inlett announce to his braindead indoctrinated rank and file masses the wt corporation is short on funds and so they have money problems.
he made light of his role and the rest of management's predicament by saying on a public broadcast: "in doing the math we found that the amount of money flowing out will be much greater than the amount of money coming in at this time".
clearly the guys on the gb have very little business sense to let things get so out of hand with tons of projects in the works and having to close all of them except for warwick, and one in england.. i have to wonder just what type of math these dead heads on the gb even know or consider when making all their plans for the future of the corporation they have leadership over.

So I am torn on this video. On one hand, I acknowledge the production quality has improved tremendously since I left 10 plus years ago. Nice facilities. I would have loved this when I was still in. I am sure my JW mom does.
On the other hand, it is a fuc#ing cult. All of that quality wasted on an inferior message.
A for quality, Double F for message. LOL.

Being Disfellowshipped + On-Going Cycle of Depression
by Cimarrona ini've been disfellowshipped for six years, since i was 18. i struggle with depression and self-destructive habits (minor in comparison to the suicides, substance abuse, risky sexual behavior of others i've grown up with who have left or were too afraid to leave).
i'm fairly successful for my age - respected in my field, i have an extensive curriculum vitae of published writing, presentations, and other projects.
yet, i often feel worthless and unloveable.

Education in Africa is culturally important, what better way to get money than elevate donating to the same level as paying school fees, which in Nigeria, can be exorbitant. Google it, I did.
Watch for similar letters customized by local branches for local J dubs.

Were You Ever SHOCKED That Someone Got Appointed As An Elder?
by minimus ini remember some men getting appointed and wondering what the hell were they thinking???.
likewise when i came to someone being appointed a presiding overeer or whatever they are called now!

I was shocked to ever be appointed, let alone twice. Holy Spirit, HA!
Growing up a Jw, I was encouraged to reach out, and I wanted to be an elder, I wanted to help people. But I grew up in the congregation. Certain elders fought against me being appointed every step of the way. I almost was in 1991, got jc reproof for lying, a BS charge from some jealous Pioneers and their MS husbands. Set me back a few years.
Switched congos, same KH. MS again, pioneering, could never get appointed or get approved for MTS. Especially one older elder hated my guts. A new CO, MTS grad, came through, liked me, got me appointed elder and into MTS IN 2002.
Fast forward, I leave my assignment for health reasons after a short stint. Move to nearby Congo, NORMALLY would have been automatic reappointment for an MTS grad. Nope. Elder in that hall conspired with an elder in my MTS assignment hall ( who felt threatened by the MTS guys) and my original KH, by the same elder who held me up....took 10 months to be reappointed, had to postpone multiple public talk requests and circuit assignments.
It only took another 4 years, in 2006, for them to boot me off as an elder. Fought with me every damn week. I could have won procedurally against them, but why? By then, I was here, TTATT had opened my eyes. I left 8 months later, never looked back.
Funny, not one of those MFers are elders now. LOL

Lancelink:
Paul Illingsworth was a nice guy.
Indeed he was. He was one of my 2 instructors in MTS (62nd US class - St. Louis). For who he was, and who he worked for, I respected him as fair in his dealings with me. I have a picture of him with his feet on a desk reading Sports Illustrated or something golf related.
The other instructor, and ancient fart, told me I needed to upgrade my suits, even though HIS looked like Goodwill rejects. Mine were off the rack, but custom tailored to fit. Fu#k him, he's probably dead by now.
