Accounts report at Circuit Assemblies to go away

i was at the regional convention and asked an elder why is that at the assemblies their is an accounts report but not at the conventions?

he said, well actually they got a letter and in it said that in a little while they will do away with the accounts report stating how much the assembly costs for the weekend and just go to donation basis like at the conventions.. my first thought was, "they will donate even less now.".

anybody else hear about such a thing?.

It was like watching a car wreck, which I seen today. You know you shouldn't, but you keep on watching.

Yes, I speed read the whole thing. I had read an older version while attending (the now defunct) MTS in 2002. I had forgotten how nitpicky it was. Some of the newer things on videos, etc. was interesting. I see they are desperate to get younger talent involved as the old timers age out.

I do not miss it one bit.

I still like the idea of renting space on digital billboards near an en route to convention sites along interstates. Messages like above or pointing to jwfacts, etc. Simple and to the point messages.

Of course, the GB is telling the Sheeple to ignore the media.

I will try the mouse hover on my desktop, no luck on my tablet. Most of the time relative times is sufficient, but there are times when my memory fails me and it us nice to put a timeline together. Kind of my personal journal in my post jw life.

At one time, didn't the system post the actual date of the post, rather than the more generic "5 months ago" or "1 year ago"? I miss that.

under uk law they can (and will) delay their reply if you miss out any of the important points in the template letter - for example they are allowed to ask for "costs" from you (£10 is an established fee in the data industry), or if you fail to prove your identity by means of passport or driver's license.

No, but the cards moved from one congo to another when you moved.

They used to just send the time as an aggregate of the congo. Usually locally only kept no more than a couple years, others kept their whole history in archive files. Bet they are purging now.

I haven't been an elder since Dec. 06 or a secretary since Oct. 06., so a lot has probably changed. The Borg was just starting to migrate to electronic records and communications.

The Borg is lying.

When I attended MTS, one of the instructors who was also a DO, had spent time in Service Department. I promise you he told tales of all the info they have on you. Anything you have applied to do for them was there.

The local congos are a mixed bag. One congo I was assigned to after MTS the secretary had a file on every single person. I purged them when I arrived. 5 contractor bags full, and this was a small congo. But I read some before burning it and it was creepy. Very invasive, definitely invasion of privacy. Not sanctioned by the Borg. Other congos barely had publisher cards.

Of course, in anticipation of these data laws, they may indeed have purged their files.

Glad I am out.

tell us a little about yourself and your family.. i was born and raised in southern california, with a brief stint with parents as need-greaters in central america.

my parents accepted a study in the d2d work, i believe my father was interested in the revolutionary aspect of the religion, and my mom said she wanted to learn the bible.

they were baptized in 1937 i think, and attended the one and only los angeles kh at the time.

Dagney... That makes sense. Yes, Indian food. I had just left the dubs and ended the relationship with the JW sister in India. Do you remember the young gal that was there, drank too much, had the truck with no brakes, she used to go by Eclipse on JWD. She was drunk, but had the presence of mind to put brake fluid in her truck. LOL.

She stayed in the room at the hotel with the gals, guys were next door. She left early to get home to her family. Always wandered what happened to her. I have a pic of the two of us. Good times. Funny, I only drank tea. No alcohol. Drove home straight through 15 hours. Ended up with kidney stones. LOL

Wasn't Uzzah and BB there too?

We want to do Tahoe, maybe next year. I have the vacation time. Life is good.

We met at the Toronto Apostafest...What year? At the big microbrewerery.

I was still an elder in 2006 when I went to college. One of the reasons they deleted me.

My first class I took was Ethics. I took stances on every issue we discussed that was opposite of what JWs believed. And it woke me up. I left JW in 2007.

A few years later, when my non JW wife took her class, I had a chance to thank that instructor and tell her how her class changed my life.

No wonder JWs don't want anyone educated.
