well, i grabed the pile of shit watchtower mags my wife has been bringing home and decided to look through a few since i had some down time this weekend.

Does the Society or congregations announce death of GB member?

so we all know that carey barber died recently.. i was wondering if most jw's know about this news.

do they make an announcement at the congregations?

have a moment of silence?.

It was announced at our meeting a couple of days after it happened. The elder has a direct connection to the inside of the Borg. He has some heavy responsibilities that keep him in regular contact with the branch.

But I think this is unusual for it to be announced locally. And no... I doubt replacements are announced...you will read about it in the WTrash or in a Yearbook.

i am going to try to live without needing the board so much for awhile.

the only reason i am saying anything is that i am horrible at sending pm's, emails, etc.

and i dont want people to wonder in the back of their mind where i am, if all is ok.. i am tired all the time and i just want to see what my life can be like not in constant thought about the jw world running through my brain.. i will wonder how everyone is doing and would welcome emails.

ive enjoyed reading your posts as I lurked in the background until recently. The board (and the net itself) can be time consuming if we allow it. There is a big wide world beyond the screen. Go out and enjoy it.. free! be free!

The Release of the NEW issue of the Revelation book

the witnesses i associate with were discussing the latest version of the revelation book, and what new changes there were.

that they would have to get a new copy over the old copy so they would have the newest information.. i love that!

their minds are pre-programed to just accept new change and re-writing of "jehovah's" original "channeled" word given by the wts in past issues.. oh, that's right...things will become "brighter and brighter"!

My JW visitors returned again. I'm officially an RV.

they've actually been back a couple times but i haven't been home.. the first time the came back was the day of the memorial, they dropped off a second invitation, just in case i misplaced the first one, i guess.

my wife was home and talked to them for a couple seconds but they weren't too interested in talking to her.. it had been a little while since the first time i talked to them as i've been busy on saturdays, so this time they came on a thursday afternoon around 3pm and i just happened to be home.

the lady started out by saying how last time she visited we talked about world conditions, which we didn't as you can read in my previous post on the matter, and then went on, reading a scripture, the one that talked of the last days where all these horrible things will happen, like greed and drunkeness, children won't listen to parents and people won't love god.

kwintestal: Why dont they talk to your wife? Heck, when I was a regular pioneer, if I ran into the same person twice (even if it was not the person I was looking for), I counted it as a return visit ...for I did return and visit the person again....gotta pump the number ya know. I always left them a piece of ~~trash~~ literature, just to get it out of my bag.

How do you explain what they do? (and some of us used to as well).
