  Potential apostafest

  i've noticed a lot of us live pretty close to each other and could possibly get together.

  specifically, i'm talking purple sofa, crazy blonde deb, sacolton, and john doe.

  there are likely others in our area too, maybe you guys know who.

  though i've never been an elder (thank god), i was raised by one and know several.

  it has been my observation that there is a tremendous amount of politics on bodies of elders.

  this is probably not a news flash to most of you.. there is a saying that "academic politics are so bitter because the stakes are so low.

  I got a memorial invite today!!! whoo hoo!!!

  i found it in my mailbox along with the rest of the junk mail.. i took a set of magazines from a couple of jw women last may thinking i could anti-witness to them when they did a return visit on me.

  i was even nice to them, but they never came back.

  so now i'm wondering if this memorial invitation was their "return visit" or if they're putting them in everyone's mailbox in an effort to boost their holy statistics by inviting everyone in their "territory".. w.

  In the US, it is illegal to put anything in a mailbox without proper postage... I think the fine is $450. Don't know what the law is in Canada..

  I would throw them under the bus...not because I care about following the rules..just to cause WTBTS trouble.

  No one sends me an invitation... thankfully....but hey, 17 days to go, right?

  hey, I wonder if some of our clever graphics people on the forum could combine the Survivor logo and change the location to "Kingdom Hall" or "Patterson, NY", "Walkill, NY", or "Brooklyn, NY".,...add that crazy theme song and all.... that would be fun.. put it up on You Tube...

  omghost.... absolutely true....

  I think I mentioned this at least once before...

  My favorite show on TV is Survivor... I have seen nearly every episode.. I am not fanatical and I dont remember the details, but I like watching it at the time it is on. In 2002 our meetings were on Thursday night. When I was a new elder, I used to take pleasure in telling the PO that I liked Survivor...his first question was not "why?" ...but "how can you watch that, it's on a meeting night." (hello....that's what god created VCRs for...duh)....

  His second question was..."so....why do you like that show so much?"

  With a straight face..... I replied.... "because it reminds me so much of congregation politics." And walked away...

  Probably was the beginning of the end for ol Elder Snakes...only took another 5 years to catch up with me...lol

  I think N-kiki (or a mod) wisely realized the error of posting details on the open part of the forum and deleted it. I just checked....Fortunately, the poster deleted it before google bots could cache it.. this thread appears but not his/her post.

  We hope n-kiki stays around... and asks questions... even if by PM (private message)...and posts on the private section...google does not capture those

  i am 20 minutes away from a sheparding call........

  first one in at least 5 years.......wife does not want to sit in and i just told her if she does not, then i am not either.....this loss of faith thingy has really been rough on our marriage.......i have decided to not bring up a single issue i have........i will relate to them my illustration of the taxi driver who keeps giving out bad directions i posted yesterday.......i think what will surprise them maybe is that my loss of faith goes way beyond wt.......i have lost virtually faith in the bible and god......one has already told the "first place to start is to get going to the meetings again!"....lmao!!!.........

  i hope their programed brains can grasp that maybe you need faith in a god first.....then find out what method (or book) he is using to educate us if he wants to....and then if you feel the need....look around to find out if there is a group of folks who all have similar beliefs.........this should be interesting...........oompa.

  just seen the other post ahead of mine....I wouldnt go with the spiritual vacation part.. that will get them down your throat..as will saying you are spiritually exhausted..they have "answers" for that.... but regular exhaustion and depression might... of course...meetings are the cure for depression right? NOT

  I have little advice... they have already determined their goal for this SC. You have to figure out what that is. Depends on the mindset of the BOE and the individuals elders coming to see you.

  Figure out who is good cop and who is bad cop...it goes a long way to dealing with it..

  well...7 minutes to go.... I wish you well oompa....
