  It's not OK to blast music in your driveway if you are in a neighborhood.

  july 4th is ramping up....several neighbors feel its ok to blast their radios.

  by blast, i mean i can hear the music from a block over.

  i have rock coming from the back of my house, spanish music coming from either side of me, and christian rock filling in front.

  my mom and step dad have a house in Dania that is made of wood...pembroke pine...the exception to the no wood rule of South Florida apparently. Apparently the termites dont like the pine. The house is for sale since they moved to Alabama..

  and when the "music" is so loud it rattles the windows and walls, it is too damn loud. In our town of 30,000 people...it is spread out quite a ways...yet we only have 5 FT cops patrolling in the day and 4 at night.... good luck getting them out for noise complaints.

  Family Vacation in Colorado. Suggestions?

  i would really love to take my family (including a couple of small kids...and maybe the dog) on a road trip to the colorado rockies in late summer.

  i'd like to spend at least a week out there.

  any ideas on places with some good scenery, activities, places to stay (a cabin would be cool).. i haven't been out there before, and i don't know if i want to just stay in one area or make some sort of "grand circuit".

  I loved Boulder, not far from Denver...I hiked into the mounains, took a tour of the Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory, which was really cool. They let you go into a big room where they have to keep all of the bags of spearmint and peppermint seperate from everything else. Clears the sinuses nicely. Overwhelming....

  ...only fly in the ointment, and WTWizard made me remember...do NOT stop at the Kingdumb Hell as you pass it on the road to the factory. LOL

  There are some facilities to take hot air balloon rides but I think that has to be planned ahead and done early, weather permitting. I just missed that opportunity a couple of years back......ballooning in the Rockies... great idea...

  downtown Denver...16th street pedestrian mall is nice if the weather is good...great for people watching..... There is a free tram that saves you a lot of walking that runs every few minutes... Science Museum in Denver looked interesting...I wish I would have had time to really check it out...I was working all but one day that week....

  ...anything in the Rockies or the National Parks...choose the ones off the beaten path....

  believe it or not, they were saying this in her presence (she was 16 at the time)!!!.

  I do not have any biological children of my own...and I never will. Why? Because I devoted my younger years to the cult. Do I resent that? Yep. Do I dwell on it.... no....not any more.

  At 42, it was unlikely that I would marry a woman young enough to have kids. ((Even if I did, I watched my dad go through hell when my youngest brother was born...32 years ago.... my dad was the age I am now......42. (mom was 33). Little brother was born when I was 10, my middle brother was 7.... and my little brother was not planned but he was and is loved...despite the tremendous heartache he has often caused.))

  Now that I have met someone who, though still early in our relationship, looks like she is "the one" ...we know we are not having any children together...the risks to her health are too great to chance it...and we are both too old to be raising kids into our 60s... I look forward to helping her raise her 8 year old son. I hope I can have a good influence in helping him to grow up to be a good man in life...someone that is caring and non-judgmental. And we will still be young enough when he flies the nest to do some travelling together.

  I have heard JW parents at the KH say this (the topic subject) about their kids....usually self-righteous pioneer wannabees.... let me tell you...giving up your chance at kidsin this system....with a fake promise at kids in some fantasy paradise at some continuously shrinking future date.... to knock on thousands of doors over a lifetime to get maybe one or two recruits to the cult....just to watch 4 or 5 others leave out the back door....that is an excerise in futility. No thanks. I abhor violence, but I cannot stand stupid people like that...but this is an exception...Please smack the hell out of the next JW parent that says crap like that.

  unfortunately i had the "flu" friday and saturday.

  but i made it to the sunday session to make an apperance.. on sunday, i learned that we are,... ready, this is a new one for me :"...on the doorstep of the great tribulation..." so close brothers!

  When you don't have to pay wages, then you can assign three people to do the job of an inanimate object

  because people ignore signs...not just dubs..... When I did janitorial for a discount store here in town, I would put up a similar sign. women especially would ignore it and come on in while I was mopping....and expect me to leave.....and have the audacity to complain that the toilets were not clean. Even though there was a perfectly clean employees restroom in the back of the store...oh, wait, they would have had to walk 100 feet down the aisle.....

  eventually...I just started ignoring their requests for me to leave... I just cleaned other stalls while they took a dump in their stall.

  nope...just the opposite.... the last one I attended as an elder (and was chairman of the local building committee for the remodel until I left Dec 06) windows were included to be added in the update. I went by there a week ago and there are indeed windows in the auditorium now.

  Please help me to chill .... quit bouncing off the walls....detox...

  in some ways i am add....bouncing from thing to thing...i think i have always been a bit add, even as an kid.....never diagnosed formally, but i have the symptoms.. being a jw, especially an elder, did not help that one little bit.

  i was always busy doing something as a jw...field service, "studying" for meetings or some part, elder business, helping others in the congo, etc.

  i rarely took the time to just unwind, relax, do something for myself..... i was always worried about doing something for others.. on the other hand, on some things, i will be ultra focused on what i am doing to the point that i will let 8 hours go by and have to be reminded to go eat....this was the case when i was a billing specialist.. i would be in the middle of some fascinating adjustment (i love numbers, data analysis, stats, etc.

  Life is indeed unfolding nicely... not without emotional collatoral damage.... ...will have to share some sad but interesting stories from the weekend regarding former JW friends. Some real eye opening incidents...... tells me I made the right choices regarding the cult....Its too early in the a.m to write coherently.

  ....but the net gain is having someone I love and loves me unconditionally.

  however, I had an excellent weekend with GF and her son... except for Chuck E Cheese.... they should call it Chuck up Cheese. I am contacting their corporate office this week... that was the worst pizza I have ever eaten...and it made the GF sick to her stomach.

  Off to bed....Monday is our day together...sans kids.....

  exactly.... I knew that when I posted it..... .. and humor is the only way I can deal with a person like MJ. I quit watching the news because it was MJ all over the damn place. He was just a bit too weird around kids. Mental illness or more? Never know.. Pedo or not..ever proven? He was a sick individual, perversions or not. I am not an unfeeling, uncaring person.... he was a human being....a strange one...but human..... I did not know him personally so have no feelings about his death. He was not my friend. He was one of 6 billion people. However, if he was a pedophile.... I hope hell is created and a special place found for him. If not, then he is merely maggot food.

  The jokes were mostly sick, often funny..... sometimes strange.....much like MJ.

  History will judge him.... there is no higher power to do it.
