I priced 100 corrugated single sided single color plastic signs @ $119 with tax. I would love to plant about a dozen in the easement along the street on the OPPOSITE side of the street from my old KH.

I was wondering about Dick and Jan Baker. They were special pioneers in Alaska in 1970, when my they studied with my mom. My JW mom says she thinks they are in Arizona now.
Other family was the Browns, from North St. Louis, MO county, moved to West Lafayette, Indiana. Floyd Sr. and Dena were the parents. Floyd Jr., Jeremy, Julian, and I think ggey had a girl or two. My JW dad, now deceased, went to elder school with Sr. Jeremy would probably be my age, 48-49 now.

TTATT is a process, and it’s going to take time. There are no Short-Cuts.
by John Aquila ini talked to a close friend that served with me as an elder for a few years.
he allowed me about an hour to explain why 607 is not the correct date for the destruction of ancient jerusalem.
i showed him all the scriptures needed and i showed him the wt magazines that proved it.

I cannot subject my 72 year old JW mom to TTATT anymore. 8 years ago, when I was fresh out of JWWorld, she overheard me tell my never-a-dub stepfather that WT was a cult, this while vacationing together in the Caymans (a real paradise). I don't think, even today, my mom got over that. This is why I don't make any overt waves now, to spare her feelings. I don't hide, I'm in plain sight.
Unlikely my mom will leave JWWorld, if she did what would she do for friends this late in life? She lives in a tiny southern town. I worry about her.

Please change my username, Simon =)
by Divergent inhi simon, sorry to disturb, but i would appreciate it very much if you could kindly change my username for me - from just kidding to divergent.
i've decided to change my username because i'm not the same person i was when i first joined this site.
back then, a part of me still believed, and i thought that if my doubts were wrong and the religion actually turns out to be true and i posted negative stuff here... hey, i was only just kidding!!!.

Way back 9 years ago I signed up and must have been tired, because my user name was sankes instead of snakesinthetower. A typo, thankfully Simon had mercy. However, I can see where these requests could be time consuming.

Where are they now? - Paul Illingworth
by Black Man inanyone know whatever happened to former do paul illingworth?
he was teaching mts school for many years, but heard that he got out of the do work (before they got rid of the arrangement).
he was super intelligent and one of the "nicer" company men that i came across during my time in the borg.

Paul Illingworth was my MTS instructor in 2002. I genuinely liked him and I think he tried to get me out of my bad congregation. Lost track of him. I left the Borg in 2007, so I no longer have the access to the heavies that I used to.

All It Takes Is ONE!
by John Aquila inive been reading all these posts about bethelites and special pioneers being kicked out in the street and being forced to get a job to provide for themselves..
and im trying to put myself in their situation and feel the emotions that must be going through their mind.
what if my wife and i both dropped out of school to pioneer and got married at 18. and what if we were very faithful in listening to everything the organization says.

I know of many couples around my JW mom's age (72) that are childless and worked stupid non-career jobs to "do more" in the Org. One in particular just lost her husband (who spent time in prison as a conscientious objector in the U.S. because of the JWs) after a surgery that at first seemed fine but then died a couple of days later, right after the Memorial. They had already been forced to move from their tiny house (rent or owned? dunno) because of poor health, but at least they had their cats at the house. When they moved into subsidized senior housing, the deposit and increased rent for even one of the cats was too much. They had to give away those they could and put down (i.e., kill) the older/sicker ones.
Now she has no cats, no husband, limited income, and a decreasing number of friends still in the Witnesses. Many have died, moved away, or even just left. Just sad. I wonder what happens to my JW mom when her non-JW husband (my stepfather, whose health is poor) dies? Hope her non-JW husband was smart enough to sock money away, because my mom has none.
Personal responsibility I agree. But when one is outright lied to by others (elders, GB, allegedly God) one trusts, some of that responsibility is shifted to the liars. But only the one lied to is left holding the bag, not the liars.

Blurring of genders
by Saltheart Foamfollower inas sometimes happens at elders meetings with the co, he has a letter from the branch to read out.
this rarely is made available later so any policies have to be acted on from memory.
this visit a letter was read about blurring of the genders and in particular brothers dressing in a metrosexual style - tight clothing was mentioned again.

The GB points one collective bony finger at the masses while four fingers point accusingly back at themselves.
As we used to say when we were kids: "He who smelt it, dealt it."

I wonder if the fella with 17 employees sold the business, kept it with someone else running it, or closed up shop and said to his employees "see ya, gonna go serve Jehober now. Go, be warm and well fed." And how do the commuters pay for their own expenses if they "serve" at walkill full time?
I did 3 weeks at brooklyn and 4 in walkill as a temp. Except for the beauty of upstate NY in October, it was a fu$king waste of time.
