  "I still miss it Dad" My 41 Year Son Admitted

  on the 18th of september i turned in my disassociation letter in to the tigard congregation, 19 years ago.. my son turned in his letter in november 2001, 19 years ago shortly after me.

  he was 21 years old.. two days ago we were working together on a wrap for his a/c unit on his bus.. out of blue, he says "i still miss it dad.

  I have ONE friend who, even after I left JW, still is my friend. He was my best man in my wedding (to a Catholic, but by a non denominational preacher friend) in 2011, 4 years after I walked away. Recently I have had issues with a hopefully soon to be former coworker. My friend told me he would, at his expense, fly back from Florida to the midwest if I needed a character reference.in court. THAT is a true friend.

  I have my JW 76 year old mom who still cares deeply for me and is coming to visit me and my non JW wife next month. Even if I were DF, I think she would not shun me.

  I, too, miss my old friends, but like any situation (i.e., work, school, church, etc.), these often end up as situational friends. Over time, MOST end up fading away because we don't see them regularly once we aren't around them.

  I think Zoom and COVID will break up friendships at local Kingdom Halls. Or, like my mom, will strengthen a few select friends.

  Witness reaching out to me after 20+ years...

  a few weeks ago; a witness couple from the midwest reached out to me after 25+ years.

  they said they were doing a letter writing campaign and decided to reach out to me… they called on my personal cell phone, which was a little surprising.

  a few days ago, a couple that i knew from over 40 years ago, sent me a text, again to my personal cell phone.. i assume that they just googled my name to get the personal info.

  They don't bother Mister Snakes anymore. Nope, not DF. INACTIVE since August 2007....QUIET APOSTATE since long before that while still an elder......if they KNEW my true feelings. LOL

  However, the local Dubs have been told to steer clear. I hear from a few occasionally, but rare and brief....what do we have to talk about?

  "The Old Days" when I was a miserable, single, renting, uneducated regular pioneer elder, MTS graduate with a corncob up his ass...OR..

  ...the reasonably happy, married (to a good Catholic woman), with a grown son (my wife's son, who I adopted at 16...now 19), and a stepdaughter, homeowner, career-minded, college educated independent thinking MAN?

  JWs are afraid of me. They won't be "reaching out" to me anytime soon.

  And my 76 year old JW mom loves me unconditionally....

  I was territory servant as MS, so that occupied space; then literature, then accounts. Then as elder TMS AND Congregation Secretary. When I went to MTS in 2002, my catalog case on wheels wasn't big enough. No computers allowed, but I had binders of printouts. God I carried a lot of $hit for no pay.

  we need to get rid of anything that reminds us of anything negative concerning slavery.. in boston they decapitated the head of christopher columbus and got rid of his statue.

  Those pancake syrups need banned...because they taste like $hit, not over a dumb logo. What's next saltines cannot be called crackers any more?

  I live in a mixed hood....more black than white. I call it the Border Hood....'cause if you go a couple blocks south it IS the hood. Our block is mostly quiet....I rented here 21 years....bought our house in 2019 2 doors down from where I lived when it came up for sale, actually before it went on the market officially. Nicest house on the street. Modest 2BR, 1 bath. Newly remodeled, all brick, garage, full basement. $72k.

  I consider myself lucky. Though I am the in the minority (white), I mostly just mind my own business and nobody bothers us or our cats. I just wish ......well, what I wish no longer matters, does it? Reasonableness. There, I said it.

  he has went over the top a few times doing one video on why being liberal idiot is a good thing.

  he has made comments on the usa not knowing shit about what he was desperately trying to talk about.

  I like Lloyd, but his videos are too long. But I chalk that up to I not having the time, too much to do. Nor do I need ex-JW stuff so much anymore. I walked away almost 13 years ago. I know TTATT. And my 76 year old, 50 year JW mom is not changing her mind, just not so harsh. Maybe being a recent widow did that.

  Lloyd serves his purpose in the exJW world, just as Rick Fearon of 6 Screens fame (infamy?). Lloyd should stay in his lane. Rick would do well to tone his schtick down. And I miss Dogpatch. He was old school. But effective. Barbara Anderson is informative and her tone is right.
