basically, from what i can tell from the new return to jehovah brochure, is that the governing body is now offering amnesty to anyone who has been gone from the congregation but now wants to return.. it claims it doesn't matter what sins you've done, or what caused you to leave, if you repent to jehovah and ask the elders to help you, and return to the meetings, you'll be warmly welcomed with no disciplinary action or judgment against you..

I live by the motto that "You catch more flies with honey" and "A positive change is always good, even if many negative things remain."
I've learned over the past decade that being kind, civil, friendly is much more persuasive than beating someone over the head and condemning their core beliefs.
It is my hope that some people in the Bethel Headquarters may see some of my suggestions and take them to heart.
With that said, there are absolutely things that have been done wrong, are being done wrong, and need to be addressed immediately before the Society can be considered something besides a cult.

Basically, from what I can tell from the new Return to Jehovah Brochure, is that the Governing Body is now offering AMNESTY to ANYONE who has been gone from the Congregation but now wants to return.

It claims it doesn't matter what sins you've done, or what caused you to leave, if you repent to Jehovah and ask the Elders to help you, and return to the Meetings, you'll be warmly welcomed with no disciplinary action or judgment against you.

No mention of DF in new brochure?

i went on my tablet today and clicked "yes" that i attended the convention (they probably tracked my ip and two elders will show up on my door step).

i scanned through the new brochure on bringing those who have left back.

i noticed that not once they mentioned anyone who was df!

It's strange that there were no steps at all listed for Disfellowshipped ones, having to do anything different to return than anyone else is.

In recent years, the spiritual instruction provided by Jehovah’s organization has reflected an increased emphasis on simplicity and clarity. Consider three examples. First, there is the simplifiededition of The Watchtower.* This edition has proved to be, in effect, a loving gift to those who struggle with language or find reading a challenge.
As we might expect, over the years Jehovah has helped “the faithful and discreet slave” to become steadily more discreet. Discretion has led to greater caution when it comes to calling a Bible account a prophetic drama unless there is a clear Scriptural basis for doing so.Additionally, it has been found that some of the older explanations about types and antitypes are unduly difficult for many to grasp. The details of such teachings—who pictures whom and why—can be hard to keep straight, to remember, and to apply. Of even greater concern, though, is that the moral and practical lessons of the Bible accounts under examination may be obscured or lost in all the scrutiny of possible antitypical fulfillments. So that's why I am starting a new series of posts on this website entitled "Simplified Suggestions." I'll be giving suggestions to the Governing Body for much simpler, accurate, interpretations based on the context. Now, for this first post in this series, it will be all about...

The Identity of the 144,000 (Revelation 7:4-8, Revelation 14:1-5) -- Simplified Suggestion

My Simplified Suggestion for this topic is to Suggest two possible interpretations, one symbolic and one literal:

1:) Symbolic: 144,000 is 12 multiplied by 12,000. The emphasis is on two "Twelves" just like in Revelation 21:14, with the 12 Tribe-Leaders of Israel and the 12 Apostles being the foundation of the Heavenly Temple. So this is simply symbolizing all those who take the lead in worshipping God in this new arrangement of Gentiles together with Jews. No literal number intended.

2:) Literal: The 144,000 refer to actual Jewish virgin men who will be chosen as special prophets during the Great Tribulation time period.

I prefer Option 1.

Either one is simpler than the current JW idea.

One more thing I noticed that is very different:

They make a big point of saying that ANYONE who starts going back to the Congregation will be "warmly welcomed" by the people in the Congregation.

It didn't say anything about "except for those who are Disfellowshipped," or any kind of footnote or exclusions at all.

I did think it was interesting that they put more of a focus on confessing to Jehovah and getting right with Him than talking to the Elders.

Also, they very much made it sound like absolutely no disciplinary action would be taken against any repentant sinner who returns, no matter the sin.

Is Prophecy important?

hello, i am certainly new to all of this.

i have recently been studying the prophecy's, and i was wondering if they are of any importance at all?

The bottom line is, no one would ever have thought that two writing styles for two different topics in one book, Isaiah (that has historically always been recognized as one book, going back to 200 BC in the Septuagint), had to have multiple authors unless it predicted events in detail over a century in advance.
