Keep in mind that they were "this close" to allowing all autologous transfusions altogether...save for one changed vote on the body of old men...

NOW ONLINE - PEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH - DEC 2006 MAG ARTICLE ON BLOOD
by West70 inthis has most likely already been posted, but i don't have the time or will to sort through past postings to verify.
given all the attention given to the canadian sextuplets tragedy, it won't hurt anything if this is a duplicate posting.
at any rate, the december 2006 issue of "pediatrics and child health" magazine contains anarticle entitled, "medical emergencies in childrenof orthodox jehovah's witness families", co-authored by juliet guichon, a medical bioethicist at the university of calgary.

JWs, of all people, really wouldn't have any qualms about lying in court because:
(a) They are engaged in "theocratic warfare" against enemies of all sorts, especially "wordly" courts and institutions
(b) They have openly admitted in their publications that they need not tell the truth to those "not entitled" to it, especially in matters which would affect "Jehovah's interests", protecting "Jehovah's Good Name".
So all of this lying done by "Jehovah's Utensils" ... does not surprise me that people such as Shane Brady and J.R. Brown would spin (read: LIE) to gain good PR.

Blood - current JW thinking...
by dozy ina few observations from (indirectly) talking to a couple of hlc members who have recently attended meetings with his in brooklyn:.
(1) any hope that the wts will further reform the blood policy is wide of the mark.
the wts is very happy & settled with the current situation (whole blood + 4 components = nono everything else ok).

Personally, if I could, I would steer clear of blood...whole blood, if I could. I was lucky to not need it in my two surgeries.
But my primary focus would be to get the best medical treatment with the best medical technology that was available at the time. Many different treatments have blood and its derivatives at their foundations, and progress with these developments would guide my decision (assuming I had the time to make it in an elective situation.) I'm not against storing blood for future use, too.
I understand that this was almost allowed among the Witnesses with a blood card that was revoked, by a last minute dissenting Governing Body vote that tipped the balance under the two-thirds majority vote required to approve the change. What bat squeeze.

Biblical scholar says Jehovah's Witnesses wrong about blood transfusions
by Lady Lee inmy daughter sent me the following article.
i checked around but didn't see if it was already posted.
the scholar gives a very different perspective on the use of blood as cited by the jws as the reason for the rule about blood transfusions (bold is their words my emphasis) and (red are my comments)published: friday, february 2, 2007 | 7:24 pm etbiblical scholar says jehovah's witnesses wrong about blood transfusionscanadian press: dirk meissnervictoria (cp) - a biblical scholar says he woke up friday morning convinced he must wade into the blood battle in british columbia involving four babies, their jehovah's witness parents, their church and the government.. religious scholars have evaded the jehovah's witness blood issue because they didn't believe it had academic merit, but it's a story that must be told, said prof. michael duggan, who teaches biblical literature at st. mary's university college in calgary.. duggan said he's been in alberta hospitals telling doctors his academic perspective on what the bible says about blood and what many jehovah's witnesses believe the biblical scriptures say about blood.

Yeah, dietary laws, not medical treatment!
It is quite obvious that the blood doctrine does not pass the scholarly smell test, bibically speaking.

I have Crohn's...it is bad enough...but now add the mental anguish and stress being pulled between family and religious edicts and I'm afraid the prognosis for this girl doesn't get better from here.
Stressors definitely make any flareups much worse; I can speak from experience.

JW Children Lie in Custody Cases
by compound complex indirect and cross-examination questions in child custody cases.
wtb&ts, page 42.
"be careful that they [jw children being questioned] don't get the impression that they are in a demonstration at the circuit assembly, when they would show that the first things in life are service and going to the kingdom hall.

this is another form of "theocratic warfare" which gives JWs the exclusive license to lie and obfuscate, and hold back the truth to ones that they figure are "not entitled to the truth". Kind of like the M.O. of the Mossad in a sense.
