You know I'm a inactive jw. But wanna be a public apostate but can't because of family. We have found our happy medium. We don't go to any meetings, assemblies and zilch field service. Family still associate with us. They don't ask we don't tell. We celebrate the holidays and birthdays quietly. if watchtower abandoned the shunning policies we would be completely open about our stance. Till then watchtower and neither do our brainwashed family need to know our true feelings. watchtower wants to play dirty we play dirtier. While inactive yet still part of the jw social group I have been able to pull out my best friend and a few others by carefully planting seeds. We have our gatherings of us inactive jws. We are torn between being honest or losing our families. Everyone has chosen different paths and our path is right for us. it's a big fuck you watchtower, my one finger salute. I will have my cake and eat it too. Watchtower does not deserve to take my family or happiness away. So I play... 😈

Keeping your sanity while stuck as an active JW
by oldskool ini pass along this advice as a new topic, to get it past one off comments that may not get as much attention.. i exited the jehovah's witnesses about a decade ago.
like many, my personal situation felt to restrained to act on my impulse and get out quickly.
i took about a year and a half to two years to leave via da.. i empathize with anybody leaving the watchtower who finds it difficult to falsify dedication, interest, and belief in both their personal and public life.

How was your wedding?
by BeautifulMind inhow was your wedding?
did you have a jw wedding or something different?
my wedding was not what either of us wanted at first, but it turned out very lovely.

Had a big italian jw wedding of around 300 people. Had a ball. The brother who married us kept telling my husband to tell the band to make the music softer. My dear rebellious husband would nod and say noted. He then went to the band and said awesome job guys keep it loud 😂.
Awesome night.
Then we got back from our honeymoon and got pulled aside by 3 super dub women ( 2 are now out) to give me a stern scolding about having and giving oral sex to my husband. (all based on assumptions)

Has anyone been outed by jw health care workers?
by purrpurr incarrying on from audespare thread.
i was wondering how common it is for a sinner/apostate to be outed by a babbling jw care worker?
say you went to your dr because you were pregnant and unmarried or wanting counseling for having to live a double life as a pretend jw... and a jw secretary at the drs office saw this on your file and went tattling to the elders?.

Sharon got what she deserved. The medical profession take a oath of confidentiality. She broke it and now is paying for it.
Ps abortion is justifiable..what if she was raped, or the baby was severely handicapped. Or what if the mothers life was endangered? Who is sharon to step in and report this very private decision?
A very shitty thing to do.

Galatians 5:26 was used in and before the 1960`s to not be involved in competitive sports for yourself or for your children
by smiddy inmyself and my peers in the jw organization in the 1960`s discouraged our children from entering into competitive sports because of the jw policy , regarding that scripture .. has their been a radical change since then ?
a re-interpretation of that scripture ?.
why i ask this question is : here in victoria australia where afl football ( aussie rules ) is often regarded as a religion , especially to the state, victoria , we have, according to the media , a devout jehovah`s witness playing professional afl football at a competitive level.. and at their latest win , the team , including alec rance a jw of the richmond club was enthusiastically singing the club victory song along with his teammates on their win .. are their other examples of this in other parts of the world or is this an australian hiccup.. smiddy.

Alex rance is not baptised and won't be baptised till he resigns. Insider info 😉
He was going to resign from footie and become a baptised publisher, but the money offer was too good, so he took it and purposely delayed his baptism. His wife is a newly baptised convert and very much brainwashed into cult land 😉

now these ones face a sparse old age with little provision set aside.

How about the watchtower tract society provide for the elderly? The government give them Charity status for tax exemptions and they can't provide for their ageing members?
Oh come on governing body you need a good spanking.

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.
-

I was told by my young jw nephew that the society never said that the generation that saw 1914 will not pass away. Then I looked at him and said dude you weren't born yet and that was most certainly the Teaching and to go home and ask his parents. he never brang it up again. -

Why all the hate? Sorry dude you mean why do jehovah's witnesses have such hatred for ex members? if they didn't hate us so much by taking our families away from us, call us liars and mentally diseased, then we wouldn't have anything to complain about. Most of us would still think of the cult as a whacky religion and just let it be.
But since this cult is evil to the core and goes against basic human rights, it's not going to get rave reviews, is it?
Give me my freedom and My family and stop name calling me ( mentally diseased) then I'll shut up.

You say you are not becoming a jw for her yet you disagree with many watchtower teachings? You do realise that once baptised you can not disagree with any of their teachings with out facing harsh consequences. Do you really want to live a life that is run like a totalitarian state? You will be dictated on all aspects of life including marital sexual positions. Why are you really Contemplating joining a cult that destroys families, mandates shunning of anyone who leaves, encourages you to limit association with non believing family and friends? Your family are very right to be against you becoming a jehovah's witness. They fear loosing you. That fear is justified.
If you ever decide to leave the cult and she remains a jw, your relationship is doomed. Have you done extensive research?
I don't mean to offend you, but the majority of new recruits are usually those who are uneducated and from third world countries with limited internet access. I find it difficult to believe that in this modern age that anyone of intelligence and mentally stable would join them.
In saying that though many intelligent people do join cults and for the life of me I don't understand it!
Unless you are really joining because of her 😉 and that my friend is a recipe for disaster.
I hope you do extensive research outside watchtowers literature. This will help you understand that Watchtower has and continues to lie to its members yet expects total obedience even with their ever constant changing doctrines. You show a little of that disobedience and independent thinking now by not agreeing with them with everything, this will not be tolerated once baptised, do you really want to loose the freedom to think independently?

Steven Lett asks for money again
by Gorbatchov inthe 2016 january tv.jw.org broadcasting has a clear message: jw.org needs more money!.
the 2 months of donation increase is not enough: the thousands of projects are not a 2 month project.. so: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you (heh heh heh) and send us more!
personal conclusion: if i had any doubts that the society is sincere, this openly money grabbing has made my perception complete.
-

Just before My fade and when I was awake and knew about tatt, I purposely didn't donate. Since they wouldn't let me leave freely with out loosing my family I would purposely grab as many publications I could with out contributing 😉
I would imagine a few do the same thing.

Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
by Dunedain ini kid you not!!!!!
my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.
we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!
-
honest
Of course it's rude.
Even as a active witness I was vocal about witnessing on Christmas day is wrong.
Then you'd get the elitist jw saying well Christmas is pagan and we don't respect that holiday so to us it's just another day and if the householder gets upset he is upset with Jehovah.
Any jehovah's witness that goes door knocking on that day deserves a dose of "persecution ". I know how they really think of those celebrating Christmas. I just experienced a judgemental lashing from jw's on the worldlies celebrating pagan holidays on how they deserve no respect from us.
The ones knocking on your doors on Christmas day are there judging you.
