I am sorry. I understand your pain. I am merely inactive and don't actively talk about the Jehovahs witnesses. Yet because I disagreed with their child abuse policies, apparently that makes me a apostate. Sigh......

My Father has brandished me with the "APOSTATE" word for talking about the BIBLE!
by stuckinarut2 inso after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.
"don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".
i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.

You need to get rid of the word sin. There are no sins. There is criminal behaviour and activity but no sins. The concept of sin was made up to keep us captive. Live life ans enjoy it

What changes would JW.org need to make to become a normal Christian denomination.
by UnshackleTheChains ini am interested in getting people's thoughts on this.
on average 40 thousand people leave the organisation yearly for one reason or another.
the experiences all over the media are proof of this.

They need to stop the shunning practices. Allow people to resign or leave or be disfellowshipped without the loss of family.

Fewer christians (and other religions) and more with NO RELIGION in Australia
by fulltimestudent inthe results of the last australian census are trickling out, and the results offer an insight into the changing concepts of contemporary aussies.. in 1966 only 0.8 % marked 'no religion' on their census form.. in 2001 those marking 'no religion" had grown to 16%.. and in 2016 those marking 'no religion" had grown to 29.6%.. so more non-believers than any other group.
catholics (the previous largest group) were now only 22.5% of australians.. ________________________.
the other interesting change is language,.

Australia is pretty much becoming a atheistic country. Those who have a religion are usually moderate. I am happy how my homeland is starting to see the effects of religion.

Deborah Layton - Jonestown Survivor
by Tallon insaw this on the exjw reddit forum - very thought provoking.. "when your own thoughts are forbidden, when your questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts with friendships outside of the organisation are censored, we are being abused, for the ends never justify the means.. when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.. when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult .... when family and friends are used as a weapon in order to force us to stay in an organisation, something has gone terribly wrong".. deborah layton.
seductive poison: a jonestown survivor's story of life and death in the people's temple.. .

What "Rules" Did The Elders In Your KH Make?
by minimus insome congregations were known as liberal and others were considered very conservative.
back in the 1970s a nearby congregation made all speakers who gave public talks a white shirt to wear.
if a speaker came in wearing anything but white they were brought into the library and were given a white shirt!

No splits in long ankle length skirts which was worn in the 90s. Splits that were below the knee was still seen as evil. We had Neville bromidge (D.O) ( Melbourne Australia) sit in back of the Melton assembly hall count the amount of sisters with these splits and he then shamed us all on stage. what a perve!

by silentbuddha inso in england they report a "white clean-shaven man" mowed down worshippers at a mosque.
why do they never make such detailed descriptions when muslims do the same?.

Brussels Central station was evacuated Tuesday amid reports of an explosion and at least one man shot who shouted "Allahu Akbar,"
by freemindfade init looks like these attacks in europe are going from weekly, to daily, it literally gives me chills to think about traveling to europe with my family.
that is very unfortunate.

Ruby456 I suppose you think fighting the Germans in world war 2 was a revenge attack?
Islam is the very cause of today's terrorism. Not all Germans were Nazis and not all Muslims are terrorists. Sometimes the greater good needs to happen which Is to fight back. Unfortunately it's needed. innocent people will have to suffer for the greater good
Just how it is. Islam extremism and it's extreme barbaric evilness has no place in our society. Time to get rid of this filth

2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .

Are you fucking kidding me? Watchtower must be losing members. I was born in 1975 and I remember the stories my parents told me. They had a calender countdown in their hall. My mother was chastised for being pregnant with me etc etc.
What infuriates me is the down right lies of watchtower '!! And they Want me to go back to them? Yeah right...... I hate them even more now...

I'm glad, now maybe the world will take a close look at this cult. I don't care about a organisations human rights when they clearly don't care about ours . Bitter sweet watchtower. Bitter sweet... Sorry guys but I hate this "religion" and I feel a little vindictive at the moment. I don't feel sorry for it too.. ( due to my recent circumstances). Nor do I care that some may feel I shouldnt feel this way, I don't let anyone dictate my feelings anymore.
I'm doing a happy dance.
Bad wolf is correct. Russia told watchtower to comply with the law. Watchtower defied the law. There are other religions not being targeted, if you notice it is those who really qualify as cults.
For the life of me I don't know watchtower keeps this shunning policy. Australia is now looking at them closely due to their shunning policies and pedophilia policies.
