Has a song "GRABBED" at you pulling your soul in?
by FreedomFrog init doesn't happen to me much but when it does i can't get enough.... i was driving home from a friends house trying to figure out how to work out my finances/home/college/kids and then the song "eye of the tiger" came on.. i've heard this song many times.
this was one of my fave's growing up but it didn't catch my soul like it did tonight.
i was in awe to the point of needing to hear it 6 times already.

Should the US Comander and Chief be Under the Same Law as the Citizens?
by frankiespeakin inok what do you think should the prez or comander & chief of the us be under the same accountability as the citizen of his country?
or should a higher standard be applied?.
if it were true would that not stop alot of us bombing of other countries?

Well you know how that goes....
It can mean whatever you want it to mean. For me this scripture is just one version (among many) of great thought and teaching that recommends a life of simplicity.
If there is possibly one thing good that came out of being a Dub, it is that I see the futility in being unnecessarily materialistic. I live a pretty minimalist lifestyle--but it is by choice, not because I couldn't go out and buy tons of shit. The thing is that everything you own requires attention. It has to cleaned, waxed, polished, washed or in some other way taken care of. If you're not careful you can become a slave to the stuff.

That's the whole issue right now with the Bush presidency, which is modeled on Cheney's unitary executive theory. We are the midst of a Constitutional crisis that is far from being resolved.
The founding fathers established habeas corpus because of the legal abuses of the monarchy. Bush has turned the clock back 250 years and he thinks he has the power of an unaccountable monarch.
I don't think the average person realizes the jeopardy our Democracy is in right now.
