for those of us who got burned by the borg's bogus bible chronology.... once a few more years go by (at least by 2020 or 2030), the borg will not be able to fit their supposed divinely arranged role into some kind of bible chronology unless they completely overhaul their explanations of the prophecies.

that leaves them in a catch-22.

if they got it wrong, what's to make them any more believable in the future?.

congradulations on finishing!

i just took my last final this morning.

i have a bottle of wine in the fridge and am thinking about doing a bit of damage to it.

Congrats WD and everyone else who has taken the student's vow of poverty (that's the only part that sucks).

I am writing my thesis right now for my geology masters degree and I have one last writing project to finish for my law degree. Should be done with everything by the end of June or so.

this may not be my dumbest moment, but i'm sure it ranks pretty high.

when i was a young kid, we had a swimming pool.

i used to swim just about every day after school.

Our CO gave a talk to kids. Stay OUT of school!

he wanted to talk to the young ones in the congregation.

the main theme of the talk had to do with avoiding higher education.

basically the main idea was this: witnesses are losing alot of young people here in the last few years.

Jehovah's people need jobs that they don't have to think about after they leave for the day [yes, he actually said that].

What a frikkin' IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mindless, unfullfilling work is one of the major things that contributes to stress.

All the same, as others have already mentioned, they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction, which is just fine with me.

I have known so many really smart Dubs who should have gone to college but threw their natural talents away on an organization that cares only about self aggrandizement.

It was the exact same BS when I graduated from HS in 1974. Fortunately, I left the BORG, wised up when I was 41 and went back to school--I'll be finished up with 2 advanced degrees within the next couple of months.

the book is titled war in heaven, heaven on earth (theories of the apocalyptic).

it is a collection of essays by a number of prominent scholars which analyze millennialism and apocalyptic belief form a number of different contexts.. .

2008 and still no Armagedon!!! I feel like I made an "Ass of myself"

yes sitting in pizza hut in 1991 a small band of pioneer brothers {me and friend's} debated when armagedon would come.

due to the "generations" doctrine, we calculated 2001 at the latest...then the doctrine was dropped!!!

recently the last world war 1 vetran died in australia.

That's not going to do you, or anyone else, any good. I hate the BORG too for what they did to me and how I had to choose between loved ones, family, friends and the real TRUTH.

But, in the end, if you've discovered what's real and what's not real, you should be very thankful.

Second Cousin commits Suicide

my 2nd cousin walked out of her house after her husband and children were asleep and shot herself.

she was in her early 40s.

she was a jw.
