There was no Greek equivalent for Yahweh til centuries later. The Christians in the Greek translation of the 'Old Testament' had the Hebrew characters wriiten, instead of Greek- for that reason. With the coming of Trinitarians- it was easy to just use "Lord".
Jesus is God ONLY in the tradition branching off from the Catholic Doctrine!

How can one convince another that 1 Bible is supperiot then 76 other Bibles

......especially if that person hasn't read all 77 bibles?

you may or may not aware, there are currently 77 different translations of the bible widely used in the us today.

i personally use 5 of them (kjv, niv, amp, nasb, message).

Yeesh! Can't ANYONE look past the faults of the Organization- and just focus on scripture? I realize that understanding prophecy is a circus, with all imaginations in overdrive- but not the rest! The AbSOLUTE date of the fall of Babylon is 539 BC. (Absolute meaning that there is NO disagreement by historians!) The scriptures record that the Jews would be captive for 70 years (let me know if I need to look up the scriptures for you!). Adding that to the 539= 609 BC. Time is counted Remember how the decree was made that the Jews were to be released? The scriptures thell us it took 2 years for the Jews to organize & get the things they needed before they left for Jerusalem- 607 BC.
The discrepency is HISTORIANS- who GUESS at the time the Jews left based on ambiguous archaeological findings- rather than all the detail in the scriptures.
I trust the SCRIPTURAL details over their guesses...

It looks like you need more than "feedback"! The illustration of the name being unchanged (in the way it's pronounced) in different languages is totally untrue! A quick example is my name "Michael". It's - as you know- "Miguel" in Spanish!
My GUESS is that since you have such as dislike of the Watchtower Society, you are trying (maybe subconsciously) to find a reason for not honoring the True God with His name!
When you say "Jesus" - shouldn't you be saying "Yeshua" instead? (Hebrew pronounciation)

Hello, UB!
Fact 1: God EXISTS (Design thruout the Universe!
Fact 2: The Bible really IS inspired of God!
Fact 3: The New World translation is the most accurate today!
Fact 4: His name really IS Jehovah (English pronunciation going WAY back!)
I will be happy to debate these points- with FACTS.
Related fact: Yes my brotherhood's organization is continually making mistakes, the "Faithful Slave" as they call themselves at HQ, appear to be suffering
from the 'Apostle Syndrome' (Greater Complex), and we have a lot of goofy ideas about what some of the prophecies of the Last Days mean.
Is it POSSIBLE for men- especially their organizations- NOT to make mistakes, and be screwed up ?
The hecklers on this site are probably, for the most part, what I call 'One-Man Messiahs"- or even worse; going to churches that have FAR goofier
ideas as to what the prophecies mean, have FAR more concieted leaders (that have mansions, cars, etc all paid for)- that teach DISGUSTING
things about God!
We are just a small group of people doing our best to listen to Christ's command to preach, and the ONLY group that worship the "God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ", other than a few splinter groups that might!

There are SO many reasons the NWT is superior, that I'll start with the most obviuos: God's Name. (I heard that- Trinitarians, eh?)
Belongs there almost 7,000 times- but replaced with "LORD".

they have written, "but the holy spirit has no personal name.

the reason for this is that the holy spirit is not an intelligent person.

Also, please endure my sarcasm; I never mean it to insult; it's just that when something appears ridiculous- such as this statement about the Holy Spirit being a 'Holy Ghost' of the Trinity Fairy Tale- it's just my way of expressing my feelings!
