Mad: Very interesting view, Nark- and glad you saw & enjoyed that flick as much as I! Demons & exorcism definitely was something new; my view was that the unusual activity (as Satan with the star led the Astrologers/Magi to Herod) was the all-out effort the Demons were making to foil the Messiah, thru fear & misconception. Do I remember correctly? Wasn't there a reference to a demon-possessed man that kept following aways behind Christ shouting "This is the Son of God!"? Many would have believed such a man- and it's likely other things similar were done. The Occult convinces the masses into believing Satan's first lie- that we would never die. The 'Immortal Soul'.
Gehenna is not confusing at all- until the churches get a hold of it! Since the Jews threw garbage into Gehenna every day, at least THEY knew what Christ meant when he said the day would come when the Wicked would be hirled into it!
Getting back to the Divine Name- YHWH is His Name, no matter WHAT vowels you feel belong! Since Jesus was given all power from, and served God, YHWH was simply not another name for Christ. When Jesus said "Hallowed be thy Name", His name wasn't Hallowed. And Christ WAS NOT TALKING about the titles "God" and "Lord".
Therefore, REGARDLESS of the later translations, Jewish Traditions, Church Dogma, the exact vowels, and Christ's position as the Word of God- representing Him- one with GENUINE faith will "Hallow" / HONOR the name of the ONLY True God.
Can't get any simpler than that, Nark! I suppose you like the dispicable New International Translation. It, as MOST, 'hallow' God's name by completely omitting it....

The Book of Mormon is a counterfeit of the Bible- and Mormons take its word over the Bible; they HAVE to since it is contradicted so much by it! If the Bible WERE just a fairytale, it's people would have never existed, it's words would not inspire just about all who read it, and since it was written LONG before the Dark Ages- science would contradict almost everything it said, as it does with all the other 'sacred' writings from those ancient times! (This is the best I can paraphrase...)
Note that the entire topic is about the atrocities commited by god in the bible, you have so far made four posts in a row, talking about everything but that! Avoiding the question are you? Before answering your lenghty sermon, can you answer 3 questions for me? (1) Is it possible to have the Gifts of the Spirit if you do not know who God REALLY is, and if you do not obey His son? and (2) Is there anyone on Earth who DEMONSTRATES such gifts- which included raising the dead, and, as Christ did, healing EVERY sort of infirmity-weteher the person has faith or not?, and (3) What do you think was the purpose of the gifts? Simply to prove someone a True Christian?

Are any of you aposates?
by KCM ini don't think i am an apostate, but do feel like one for being on these boards as we were always warned not to at the meetings etc.. i disagree with so many things they teach, the main thing is the blood issue....being a new auntie, i love my niece soooo much and if i were the only person that could save her, how on earth could i not?
i'd be blood guilty for not saving her!!!!!
that in my books, would be murder.. however, may be it's because i've only been away from the mtgs for a year, but i still think of it most days and although i feel i've made the right decision as nothing was making me happy in it, and obvioulsy my ex beating me and getting away with it.....i still feel a certain pull towards it and a kind of insane loyalty???.
