  Blondie, I fear you went thru Christendom's "Hell" with a past husband- but that doesn't justify your view. The VAST majority of marriages I see in our congregations are, at least, REASONABLY happy- some struggling to keep it that way. I've seen endless marriages by unbelievers, in all faiths, fall apart over the silliest things- and most very quickly! You can't have a marriage survive long with opposing wills & authority! Women are usually SMARTER than men- you appear to be shooting my opinion down, on that!

  BOBBLE-HEADS!

  most of you know i'm a jw; i irritate you enough defending the truth as i know it- yet i admit a lot of the foolishness that sometimes rears its ugly head with my brotherhood...today it was the circuit overseer!

  wonderful man; very caring, very encouraging, very zealous!

  all this disappeared as his head bobbed up & down - endlessly- as he read the plain, stereo-typical talks from hq...if it wasn't for my wife- and the wonderful friends in the congregation, i would've walked out in the first 5 minutes!

  Is it just because i was raised a JW?

  yesterday (sunday) we went to our daughters church for family service as they have these at the end of each term for the kids club (sunday school) and if you don't know about my beliefs that i don't have any and i am one not wanting to have anything to do with any religion.. anyway there are a few things that caught my attention during this service as i normally tune out but they were talking about how jesus was telling a parragul (sp?

  ) about sowing the seeds and then it all came flooding back of the memories about how the jw used this, and you know it was strange as this church was saying things almost identical to what the jw would say.. this is not what i was wanting to mention but i thought this was interesting.. so after all the service they have a morning tea for everyone afterward and i got talking to the minister/father/pastor (don't know what the head person called) wife and the subject come about christmas and i told her that this was not as important as when jesus died and that he wasn't even born on 25th december she was taken back that he was not born on this day as i told her he was born earlier in the year and i explained how this is the reason, she was gob smacked!.

  i thought this was common knowledge so i wonder if she will go back to her husband and ask questions if this is true.. so i ask the question is it common knowledge that jesus was not born on this day and it is a pagan holiday or is it a jw thing.

  It is FACT! (Common knowledge) But his world- especially 'Christian' churches, in general, HATE truth with a FURIOUS passion!

  I'm going back..................

  i have made a decision.

  a very difficult one, indeed.. i'm going back to the truth.

  i figure i can probably get 10-15 hours of service in a month and be appointed an ms in about 3 years and elder about 3 years after that.. if i can also pioneer, i'm sure that will speed up the process.

  Mad writes: Sounds like wasted time, my friend: spirituality does NOT come from men- either you have it by turning your life to Jehovah & Christ, or you just become another worshipper of a religion! If you know it's the truth- as I do- and just wish to be with those of the same goal, that will be a great course for you to take! The very WORST if you need men to make you feel better about yourself! And there is nothing wrong with coming to this board- unless you HAVE no faith...

  However, the simplest, and most powerful way to continue, is simply prayer! He will NOT let you down- even tho it seems we always let HIM down!

Wonderful man; very caring, very encouraging, very zealous! All this disappeared as his head bobbed up & down - endlessly- as he read the plain, stereo-typical talks from HQ...If it wasn't for my wife- and the wonderful friends in the congregation, I would've walked out in the first 5 minutes! It's horrible enough to see this at ASSemblies- altho I never go to THEM anymore- but this was a REAL blow to my respect to HQ/GB/'FDS'....Nice to have SOMEONE to vent to!

  i am reading the bible for the first time.

  i was df'd in 1976 and lived my whole life thinking the jws have the truth and i just could not live up to the standard and was doomed to die at the big a without question.

  until i found jwd 31 years later.

  i live one block from the kh.

  we were gone last weekend and i was disappointed to see that we'd been visited by the jw's.

  actually, they hit both front and back doors of our house.. a double bonus in counting time for some lucky doorknocker!

  Nice to see such interesting thoughts- instead of the usual insults! It's good to keep in mind that all 'Christian' churches commerate Jesus' death & resurrection- in many ways, based on their understanding & custom! Wether you believe Jesus to be God, or the Son of God, wether you do it weekly, monthly or yearly- even using wafers & colored water, wether you eat & drink what's at the occaision or not- as long as it isn't this, I'm sure our Lord will appreciate we are REMEMBERING what he went thru- and what it accomplished!

  Defining Christianity

  it seems i constantly am confronted with those who are trying to make a "christian" out of me.

  in various threads on this forum the term is used as if everyone understands what it means and there is no fuzzy edges.. i wonder if all here assume that only those that follow "jesus" are to be considered "christian"?.

  consider that the title "christ" was not the name of the nazarene, only a title!

  What is the WT afraid of???????????????????

  ok, since it was so easy to get on here i'm assuming that this place is also over run by wts critics...but anyway!.

  i've read a plenty of wt mags and got sucked in enough by the whole thing to go to a few meetings and do a bible study( which i wouldn't really call a study, since we just read one of their books).i soon broke of the whole thing and didn't even read another mag for about 6 years...6 months ago i wandered into h20 out of curiosity and ended up reading up on the arguments against the wts.. i have a simple question, and its probably very naive to ask this...but why is wts so afraid of debate?...there are plenty of sites arguing against the wts...but none for, apart the official site which doesn't address the issues raised by so called "apostates" anyway.. if the wt has the the truth why dont they just refute the the arguments against them instead of shutting up shop and labelling anyone who questions them an "apostate?

  " or from satan or something.. i'm really beginning to think that all this wt business is just waste of time, that if i were to go to kh and ask questions that i have, i'm more likely to be labelled a trouble making agent of satan rather than be taken at face value as someone with serious questions.
