Did you see anything Strange at the Memorial- if you went???

i want to see if i imagined it!.

mad.

my lovely girlfriend and i sat down over a homecooked meal, and discussed the pros and cons of attending the memorial.. i decided, with her support, that we would attend.. i spent years of my life pretending to be a witness to please my mother.

when i left the witnesses, my mother said some hurtful things.. and those things really hurt me... for a while.

but i established myself as my own person, developed my own relationships, and have gotten a good start on my own life.. i don't know that i want to hurt my mother back, but i do want to make it abundantly clear to her, my grandmother, and all the members of my former congregation, that richierich is alive and kicking.. and i think that walking into the kingdom hall, dressed respectfully in a suit, yet with full piercing jewelry intact, and with erika wearing something classy that steals the brother's eyes, and draws glares from the humble sisters, will be just the thing to send that message to my mother.. i don't plan on partaking or making a disturbance.

The Best Email I have Ever Gotten - From a Jw student....

as some of you may know - my lifestory as it relates to jw, is being written and posted here.

in addition, randy asked to post it on freeminds and did so a couple weeks back [though it is still incomplete at this point].

i allowed randy to include my email link and real name, with a view to aiding any readers if possible.. yesterday, i got the most fabulous email i can imagine getting;.

Well, BB- I guess it's because I LIKE Jeff (we go back and forth!)- and it goes beyond ridiculing the WTBS to discourage from studying the Bible! I wasn't attacking- just putting my 2 cents in! Anything wrong with THAT?

BOBBLE-HEADS!

most of you know i'm a jw; i irritate you enough defending the truth as i know it- yet i admit a lot of the foolishness that sometimes rears its ugly head with my brotherhood...today it was the circuit overseer!

wonderful man; very caring, very encouraging, very zealous!

all this disappeared as his head bobbed up & down - endlessly- as he read the plain, stereo-typical talks from hq...if it wasn't for my wife- and the wonderful friends in the congregation, i would've walked out in the first 5 minutes!

My lament wasn't about the CO, JT- it was about how he was obviously instructed to be a BobbleHead: READ the OUTLINE, and feel free to inject a little something here & there!

What happens at the Memorial?

can someone tell me what exactly to expect at the memorial thing tonight?

i have never been and don't really want to go, but i also want to satisfy my curiosity about what happens there.

i know i can't eat the bread or drink the wine.

Mad writes: It's less than an hour. No entertainment, hype, or 'gospel singing'. No Easter Bunnies, or Easter Egg hunt. Just a serious review of how & why Christ died, what it accomplished- then a sales pitch to start a Bible Study. (Good intentions- poor taste!) The "emblems" are for those who will be ruling with Christ (he states that covenant with the Apostles.The many other disciples weren't invited.)

I admire you for your courageous curiosity- altho there is nothing to fear!

I would never be offerd that service; I am a type of 'rebel' to them, since I don't go to ASSemblies, and poke fun at some of the statements on prophecy!

Sorry to say this, Jeff- but that's pretty pathetic! Why not just tell them what to avoid? Now what? Aer they going to come to know the God and Father of our Lord Jesus by going to a Baptist or Catholic church? Discouraging them from studying the Bible. All they'll learn now is drivel. And you're BRAGGING about it!

You should be ASHAMED, instead of proud.

No, this CO has been "in the Truth" as we say for over 30 years- as I- and his head bobbed up and down like those friggin' toys we used to have in car windows in the 50s & 60s- anyone remember those little birds that would dounk there beak into something holding wayer, then bob back up, then down, continusouly? Spouting common TV News about crime, wars, etc- for ABOUT 20 MINUTES- like we all live in another galaxy, then a little about the Kingdom- then how wonderful JWS were- as if they were another group of people somewhere else! I DID wonder what the HELL (Bible word, KJV) I was doing there for a few! And I HAVE stood up & walked out in the middle of the congregation and walked out when this has happened in the past....Starting to wish I did THAT time- except it's really COLD here in Washington state- and I live about 25 minutes away- by car!!!!

I believe the WTBS is dumbing us down! I only HOPE I'm wrong!

WHAT in the world are you afraid of? Hypnotising rays beaming out of their eyes? If someone from ANY church comes to my door (happened twice in 30 years!), I will at least commend them for their courage & faith- then QUESTION them. If you've no desire to question- just shoo them off! However, there are probably OTHER motives for you posting something so vain...
