  as a brief update my wife sweet pea and i have 'announced' to a few friends and close family - less than 10 altogether - that we are no longer going to meetings.

  some friends have probed for details, others don't want to know.

  Well, when it comes to what's wrong- if you REALLY feel it is- why NOT make waves? Isn't that something that will alert others?

  Or are you just trying to save face, knowing it is the Truth- with some messed-up people in the Brotherhood, and problems of your own?

  I've been asked to explain the Trinity...............

  a jw friend of mine asked me what the trinity means to me and how i can use the bible to explain it.

  why others think it is so important.. i understand that this could be a baiting technique to try to pull me into a debate, but in another aspect, i think she really could be wondering about it.

  lately she has appeared a little disgruntled with the wts.

  District Conventions

  i hadnt been to a d.c. in about 10 years is it really true that congragations have to sit together now????

  whats up with that is it so that the elders can see who's there and who isnt.

  that would blow my scam from way back when i would maybe make one half of one day and tell people i made all 4 days.

  Sadly, Conventions have deteriorated to the finest brothers having to READ the 'talk', or Near-Read- meaning they can use their own words a LITTLE - but NOT deviate from it, no adding scriptues in place of the same ones used over & over & over again, no local info- in short NO PERSONALITY.

  The words "benefit", "more fully", "spiritual food", "we do well to ask ourselves" are used ENDLESSLY, with the reader's head bobbing up & down all day, pausing dramatically for all to clap at the right places.

  Good points: association before & after, experiences, and dramas.

  The Ugly: "Keynote" 'Talk'; it's NEVER a talk- but a word-for-word reading of 1/2 doom & gloom, 1/2 scriptures to encourage- but read word-for-word. The ULTIMATE in mindless BOREDOM!

  you kind of get to a point where you know all the answers when you are a jw.

  you don't really have to research much more because its the same stuff they present over and over again.

  "jehovah's reminders" but i kind of looked forward to new light.

  i hear all the time how leaders justify why people should buy into and follow their guesses...and the whole defense is if you don't you have no faith.. what protects a "faithful" person from becoming prey to a self-exalted leader and their guesses?

  or are the faithful meant to be prey or something?.

  Is WTS chronology flawed?

  historians agree that jerusalem was invaded by babylon in 586/587bce.

  the wts discredits most historical records and says that jerusalem was invaded in 607bce.

  the wts start with 587 and add the 70 years that jerusalem lay desolate to obtain the 607 date.. if jerusalem was invaded in 587 then it lay desolate for only 50 years (587-537=50).
