Are you serious? Really?
You trippin.
apart from "ad hominem", there are a bunch of other "arguments" that are used widely, but actually don't hold any value.. .
one i find very often to be used is "tu quoque" (you too!).
like in "yes, i believe without evidence, but you believe too!"..

BA you are so funny, one of my favorite posters actually! Because instead of you know coming into a thread and seeing someone attempt to turn it around and make it (just a little) constructive, you wanna post wack pictures. 'Caus that? Was. Wack. I appreciate a good burn but I was hardly amused at your attempt. I understand; you wanted t see this continue on into another theist v. atheist dragout where nothing gets said like usual and I tried to change it up. That bothered you I guess.
But its okay 'cause I know what you need.
Some Hoff!
Because anybody can post pictures on the Internets sweetie!
Enjoy. You obviously need something in your life if thats the best you came up with and if anybody can solve a problem- even your corniness- its the Hoff! Random I know you may think pic is (rightfully so) but knowing I'm unleashing that chest hair on your eyes makes me feel good. Cringing?
Yeah, good. Look at it!

Hmm, lets change this thread around.
Admit it; what faulty arguments are you most likely to fall for?
I will admit that at times I go with my gut and like some of the things Burns mentions, which really leak down to bad experiences (you kinda of say it differently a few times but in essence, a negative experience colors your whole outlook) which in turns moves my gut and i react to information forming an opinion, especially concerning God as I feel burne in that area.
But then don't we all and that's why we're here?
HOWEVER, you'l be surprised that I am a natural devil's advocate and anything that comes out of anybody's mouth I will at times just go against to go against just to get an argument/dialogue started about anything, from beastiality, aliens, knowledge, handling of child moletors, gender and so on. I think a part of me loves to argue just to argue. But I also get tied up into believing the little information I may have it it suits my own pinion which is not a good charateristic to have.
So your turn- what do you fall for? Stop pointing out each other's faults and take apart your own. Thats how a critical thinker goes about it.
Are you one?
(Oooh, wasn't that a cool way to end a post? I'ts all dramatic and shit. I feel like I could write a Watchtower article... but like, except really intereting 'n stuff.)

LOLZ,
What make this thread funny is that almost everybody in here is guilty of some form o the above and somehow thinks they aren't.
Now that my friends is the real humor.
he uses terms like: .
~ its okay if you dont recognize gods sovergnty .
~ its okay , you dont know better, if you knew what i knew then you wouldnt (celebrate xmas) lol .. i told him i knew what he knew, and its irrelevant, havent gotten to the fact they can play with pinatas because they dont mean the same thing they used to.
His feelings are easily hurt. when you don't have enough field service time? he's hurt. When you aren't at one meeting? he's hurt- he was looking for you !!!! He wanted to give you a substitute talk since Bro. Sis. Hangover couldn't make it..again.
Yeah, I hear it well; I still think Jehovs is crazy at times if he's hurt by my missing of a meeting but not by those starving children. Like seriously. He'll be okay.
*goes back to sleep next sunday as well*
i am very curious, since i am myself trying to figure out where to turn to, if anywhwere.
(i am still debating if i am truly an atheist at heart and religion in general turns me off at least as of now) where have you turned to since you left the wt?
i would imagine that many people who became witnesses had spiritual needs (which is ironic why i am feeling atheist, lol) but have you gone to other churches, stopped going to church, become atheist, etc?
Right now I'm in a state of "blah". I agree too much with Agnostic/atheist viewpoints but i am always open to other viewpoints and do not want to buy into something because it seems to suit me now as I'm queer, liberal in most topics, and do not really believe that much in a supposed higher power...
BUT I wanna remain open to other opinions and matters of thought and not fal into the same pitfall I've seen witnesses (and other people) do by just buyng something because it seems right at the moments and goes with their "gut" feelings. Your (in general you) an be wrong.
So I'm... Hell I don't kow I'm just 'Open' in my mind, or at least I try to be.
i think posting on a discussion board can tend to come across in a certain way, personality wise.. i'm the type of person "in real life" that is usually considered quite funny.
i have a very quick wit and i can usually disable someone rather quickly with a facial expression, smile or definitive body language.
of course, you can't see those things here but you might notice a person's humor (or lack of it) by how they post.. so what tickles your funny bone?
Yeah I'm funny. but I think Im really too stupid to describe it in like categorical terms. It's sometimes black humor, sometimes its black racialy, sometimes, its sarcastic, and sometimes its dirty. Most of the times its so wrong that if your grandma saw it she'd hit you and say a prayer for your dear souls.
It's like slapstick but not really- see I can't describe it. it's that joke thats told at the funeral of that uncle who nobody liked or nobody really knew 'caus he was quiet but you gotta be there 'cause he's dead and family but you know you just wanna get to the awake so can eat some his wife's food 'cause she can cook, so you tell jokes to make time fly trying to make the poor batard next to you laugh so people can think he's a horrible person. You point at who wear what, who's crying for attention and who is glad the bastard is dead in the first place, and the other woman he was sleeping with. And the kid he more than likely molested and is glad he's dead.
Yeah I'm that guy who tells that joke. Annoyingly innappropriate and without me you would feel the day was a complete waste. You will def. wanna ride with me to the cemetary...
on recent a thread a poster here discussed about having discovered his daughter was gay.
whilst reading this my 11 year old son was looking over my shoulder, and reading along with me, some of the discussion was quite adult but respectful .
so i began thinking what age would you discuss these things?
I know it is not PC, but I think a (religious) father's nightmare is for his child to be gay. This is not meant to be offensive, just my perspective and personal feelings.
And I think its a gay child's worst nightmare to have a highly religious father (or mother). Thats a 2-sided coin very few want to touch my dear. *finger snaps*

yeah I agree with littlerock- he already knows about gay people especially being a boy, especiall being 11 and going to school, so you can start really at any age really. I mean it is in our mainstream culture and has been for ever in some way shape or form when you think about it. the supah effeminate guy whose every movement makes you laugh? The woman who looked talked and sounded like a man... I remember being younger and watching IN Living Color and the skit with Damon Wayne's and David Allen Grier as the highly effeminate movie critics and how every movement, action or thing they said was funny... and I laughed my little ass off without really know why.
So really the perfect age is... i dont know really. i mean if you wait for them to bring it up then you might have this conversation @25 or something. I think it should be gradual like anything else. a kid asks for info on where babies come from and you tell them- gradually. they see people kissing and stuff and you tell them. I think @ the age he is at now is really perfect 'cause he's in middle school is I believe an tha tis around the age that kids these days are dealing with sex, so yeah..

Hmm, maybe they disabled it becuase they get tired of all the JW apologist who come on and like get really rude and disrespectful. I mean at times its not the place to debate you know? If they wanna reply they can make their own videos refuting them xJWs like everyone else on Youtube does....
But they cant can they? Becuase they shouldn't even be watching them. Booyah!
-sw29 who feels so smart for coming up with that synopsis.. and wondering if he is using 'synopsis' right as well.
