  Have you ever been caught doing something naughty at a KH or at the door???

  okay i never got caught in the act, but right before my exit at the age of 16 i wrote on the whiteboard (during hall cleaning) "chelsea loves dave".

  during the public talk the whiteboard came out and there it was... there were no other chelsea's so i'm sure they knew it was me.

  the speaker said "we don't want to know about chelsea and dave...ha ha ha" and rubbed it off the board.

Luckily there were no Dave's in the congregation at the time... i was referring to my out-of-control high school boyfriend - if they had thought i was referring to someone's unattractive husband it would have been worse. Were you ever caught doing something you shouldn't have been????

  in missouri at a ihop, a lesbian kissed another female (her gf) on the cheek, once while sitting in the restaurant.

  the manager went over to the ladies and told them they were not welcomed there and therefore had to leave.

  the women described the kiss on the cheek as a similar type of kiss to an "uncle".

  geeze, the memorial to remember your place in the organization jesus christ is next tueday i think.......anyone else getting roped into going besides me?

  i'm trying to talk my brother into going....just so i'm not the only slacker there.

  No. The full moon will be out, and so will the crazies. Seriously though, i feel bad for all you guys who are attending for whatever reason. I know there are a lot of obligations to family, and most are probably trying to minimise the emotionally wrentching effect that not going would have on themselves and their partners. The process of leaving can be such a lengthy one. However, this "celebration" that they have... they are celebrating themselves. The event is arbitrary and there isn't any thing spiritual about it. The most spiritual moment you will ever have in your life will be somewhere... but it won't be there. Unless you are striding out the door. And this is a chance for the R&F to look at all the people who they consider "spiritually weak" who have come along for this occasion and gossip about the way they're dressed or how fat they've gotten or how much facial hair they have or whether they are gay... And they will talk to them condecendingly, or they might not talk to them at all, but either way they will COUNT them. No matter how they treat you they will count you. If you are a fader, or if you are already out but allow someone to coerce you into going to this "special event" i believe it is akin to saying: "i am lazy the rest of the year and don't go to meetings but i believe this religion is correct and these men in Brooklyn have the right to tell me what to do and therefore i concede to attend the occasion they dictate to be THE most important and i guess i might get saved if i'm lucky." I think this is the WORST message you could send. It is like saying the WTBTS is right, yes, they are right, and you are mostly a pathetic slob but today you will give them glory. What's more, if you believe that any organisation is corrupt, why would you go any of their events, least of all THE event that they hold in the highest regard??? The biggest dodgy party of the year. If you truly believe this religion is not directed by god and is actually a big bundle of ridiculousness, you are letting yourself down by being there. Sitting quietly... captive to their self-righeousness... actually touching the cup and the plate as they pass by you... It's as if you allow the principles that you use to guide your life to turn off for the evening, and to be invaded by their manipulative suggestions and instructions. By simply passing the wine and sitting silently in your chair you are participating in their human-directed ritual, you are doing what is expected of you, by them. You are following their rules even if it's just for a moment. Unless you drink the wine, and drink it all, in which case that would be funny. I feel bad for those of you who have to put yourself through this event, even if it is for the sake of someone you care about like a partner or a relative. I hope that if you go you will be able to find humour in it somehow, or do something weird. I still have nightmares about going to meetings, or worse, going witnessing, even years later. In my dreams i am thinking "why am i doing this?"

  Pathetic Speakers

  this is great.

  i was suffering through an interminably long sunday p.m. public talk (we flip-flopped w/ the other cong--at least sunday a.m. was a little more tolerable because there was still some of the day left to do something).

  the speaker was talking about "physical training being beneficial for a little" and how some exercise was necessary.

  There was a young guy who had to do the reading at a book study, and he said "Satan's catastrophic oyster" instead of "ouster" and unfortunately he answered a question and the "oyster" ended up being mentioned several times... Many people were pissing themselves.

  my mother once found a man's wallet and returned it to him.

  she said "i am a jehovah's witness and we are honest people, that's why i am returning this to you.

  " when i told her that i would return his wallet also and i am the antithesis of a jehovah's witness, and that i was disgusted that she would give them credit for her own decent nature, she just carried on about how he would be more likely to listen next time they knocked at his door... i found it repulsive that an act of nothing more than decent behaviour (where one treats another as they would like to be treated) was made out to be something exceptional... and that my mother used the occasion to laud the wtbts... good grief!!!!!!!!!

  My mother once found a man's wallet and returned it to him. She said "I am a Jehovah's Witness and we are honest people, that's why i am returning this to you."   further to following mouthy's thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/129936/1.ashx , i noticed that the 'six screens' website is finally shown as being able to be 'checked out'.. i believe minimus first posted about this some months back.

  Hey I agree that the music is creepy!!!! I had to listen to "for the love of money" when reading the business screen so i didn't get freaked out (also because it was appropriate). And the music in the business screen is relatively good compared to the others.

  I would presume that inwardly, both parents would feel relief at the court's intervention... even if they don't admit it to each other.
