JW says "how could anyone learn the truth with only a bible"
by clarity ini would appreciate your help trying to explain to a jw, how someone could just read a bible on their own and understand what it is all about.
without an organization.. also, how could nonchristians or pagans etc find out about christ without someone to teach them?
after 45 years of using the bible, it is easy for me to say to jesus question "who will you go away to?

Clarity - I think Romans 2:12-16 might help.
"All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ as my gospel declares." (NIV)
To me it seems that "Gentiles" will not be condemned for not obeying a law they did not posess...their judgement will be on other grounds.

No one is going to Heaven (and my introduction to the forum)
by sobrino1 ini'm new to the forum, though i had been a lurker for quite some time now.
i studied w/ the witnesses for a number of years, to be specific, for 10 years (since i was a child) but never actually became one; though, i was counted as one in the yearbooks as a "publisher.
" so, as far as i got was as an unbaptized publisher.

When Paul is caught up to what he calls "the third heaven" he says "Whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows" (2 Corinthians 12:3. Of course he had not died so that's a factor, but I can't say I can answer your question sobrino1 with any actual evidence but will echo what Paul said, "God knows"...

LOL Brotherdan...I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was saying that I think you are both right. Obviously heaven is a concept/place that permeates scripture. I think Christians go there after they die. I think at "the end" we will then dwell in the new earth.

I don't know why you both can't be right...Revalation 21 talks about the new heaven AND the new earth and "the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God...And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God"...He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"
Why shouldn't the process of 'making everything new' not include the earth? If one believes in the renewal and redemption offered to people, its not such a stretch to think that the earth and all creation would not be renewed too. There is Biblical evidence for such.

Ziddina - I actually got my pdf of "The Finished Mystery" from this forum (I think Atalantis posted it a couple years back). It's a scanned copy of the original, as far as I can tell anyway...I haven't been able to bring myself to slog through the whole thing but what I've read is quite entertaining!

I hardly ever post, but have been following your story with my heart in my throat...I have The Finished Mystery on disc if you want me to post it. I've never used Sendspace to upload something, but could probably figure it out =). Glad the situation has become somewhat neutralized for you and your wife. Hope and prayers being sent your way...

Longtime lurker, seldom post, but I think this is a good resource for Christians who feel that any sexual orientation other than heterosexual is wrong somehow...
