  It's all due to the indoctrination. See, your dad can't handle the possibility that the religion failed you, so he has to come up with reasons why YOU failed the religion. It's always: you didn't exert yourself hard enough, you didn't study enough, you didn't pray enough, you weren't humble enough, you didn't preach enough, you didn't make enough meetings.............

  In their mind, no one has left the religion because it was flawed in even the slightest way. It is always the individual who left that was not ________ enough.

  I have seen prayers read at district convention!

  yes, i like to gaze around during prayers, especially big ones.

  twice now i have seen the chairman or concluding speaker finish the song, approach the speaker stand, say "let's approach god in prayer," and at the last second pull out a index card size of paper with writing on it.

  he kind of cups his hand over as he lays in on top of the song book.

  Ok, to me this thread belongs under the scandals section. If this is true I WILL BE SO PISSED! I know some talks are scripted. But if they are reading prayers..... I wish I would have heard about sooner. I would've gone to the DC just to check this for myself.

  My Pioneer mother wants me (DFed) to fix her computer... HA!!!

  when i call my mother she says she can't talk to me because i am dfed.. i asked her to help me and my pregnant wife move and she said "i don't think i can do that"... whos not allowing her to do it?.

  she always calls me if her car or her computer breaks.. she called me today because her computer broke.

  so.... i turned the tables on her.

  I should add my personal experience. After I stopped going to the meetings, my wife told me the elders asked her to ask me if they could talk to me. I told her I had nothing to talk about. She must have told them that cause they have not bothered me since.

  What Hortensia said, their authority is totally artifical - it only exists if people go along with it.

  Free minds is awesome.

  The quotes site was awesome before the bastards shut it down. Another attempt at hiding the truth from people who claim to preach the truth. Makes me so f***ing mad to think about that!

  Isn't that what they hope to do with people in field service? I guess if you're interrupting them then the "we're too busy" excuse is valid.
