Gayle, I don't know the origins of the site. I just found it this weekend.

In a way, with JWsurvey.org I suppose I am, because I'm actively canvassing the opinions of JWs and reporting those results to the Governing Body yearly in the albeit tacit hope that they will change something, when I know full well they won't.
Thanks for your feeback Cedars. BTW, I think your work on JWSurvery.org is great. You're giving the moderates a voice. Whether their voice is heard and change occurs from within, or they realize change will not come and leave possibly in a schism, I say either way, it would be great.

However in my case being moderate in a hard-lined faith created great dissonance that led to my exit. However in my case being moderate in a hard-lined faith created great dissonance that led to my exit. If only the GB was more moderate themselves, I may still be in...
Robert7, that's something to think about. So, being a moderate witness created enough dissonance that it eventually led to your exit.... Sounds like moderation might be a good thing.

There is a concept that is growing within Mormonism of 'cafeteria mormons' or 'new order mormons' - those who for whatever reason accept some of the churches teachings but not all. They seek to reform mormonism from within in various ways.
Qcmbr, I suspect the same can be said about some Jehovah's Witnesses. And I for one, I'm glad they're out there!

little more research these "moderate" JWs would see the truth of the "truth"
And once that happens will they will either awaken and exit or stay and help others exit. Either way, sounds like a win to me.
(Blonde-moment, let me take this opportunity to say I've enjoyed your youtube videos. )

I've never heard of a "moderate cult member". Let's be real here, they're still under the delusion that the WT is God's organization.
Thanks for your thoughts baltar447. Not all JWs are the same, just like not all "apostates" are the same. There are some out there that know there are problems within the Organization.
And even within the classification of cults, would you not agree that not all cults are equally oppressive?

Forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person or whether they change or not. It has to do with your own healing and moving on. Also, just because you forgive doesnt mean you stop trying to right the wrongs.

Theocratic Warfare?

You have reason to be concerned. Sounds like she's creating a bubble life separate from you. Maybe she felt alianated from you and now that you have voiced your apostate opinions she feels justified in pulling away. Maybe she's cementing her own little support group. It's also possible she's being advised by some to show loyalty to the Organization. It's possible that she thinks she has to keep the kids away from you so you don't corrupt them.
I'd recommend counseling. Also, don't think that the counselor will focus on the religion as the reason for all the problems. That's an easy mistake to fall into.
