At the hall last night

i went to the hall last night to get an insight book and a concordance.

i had set it up with an elder ahead of time to get them.

i arrived after the meeting had ended, walked up to the counter anxious to leave as quickly as i came when a big brother came up to me, planted his body in between me and the literature servant and started giving me the third degree about who i am, what is my standing in the congregation, and what did i want the books for.

I sort of feel sorry for the spanish bros since most of them don't know the true WT background and just do as they're told.

Everyone is way more intrusive and the elders act like they own you. I mean more so than the English speaking congregations.

once i started continuously reading how the organization and watchtower writings were bogus, i couldn't help but get out!

I think most witnesses stear clear of xjw sites out of fear of the apostates so I don't think they leave the WTS because of sites like this one. However, once they begin to fade then they turn to the Internet. That was the case with me. And I'm grateful for what I've learned online because before I thought they had the Truth and I just wans't good enough.

How the WT Study is Used by the Governing Body

now that i have been out of the borg for a while, it has occurred to me that one of the biggest weapons they use to keep everyone indoctrinated is the watchtower study.. elders are told that the wt study is the primary way that the faithful and discreet slave feeds the flock of god today.

it is easily the most formulatic.. consider, the content is 100% controlled.

(i would also add, made up fiction.

Is it typical for the WTS in their letters to elders to say the issue is a "collective responsibility?" If so, doesn't it cause stress among the body of elders?

But the number of not at homes (why would the angels waste resources on not at homes?) and people that are just plain not interested, including apostates that have moved into the territory (again, why would the angels waste the time on people that are going to start an argument or are not interested?)

I just about to say that very same thing, WTWizard. If the angels are directing the work they are doing a lousy job at it, because most of the doors are people who are not at home or are not interested. What waste of time! Clearly the angels don't understand the importance of this life saving message, and how close we are to the end.

Are you talking about recently or ever? I've had people tell about 1975 at the door. Of course, I wasn't old enough to know anything about 1975, and since they were being critical of the Society, I did not beleive them.

and then some days, i wake up and i have all this anger inside.

I recall seeing a scan of a letter from the Society instructing 'Elders' to charge for parking.

This I have not seen MidwichCuckoo. I would love to see it though.

About 1/3 of the way down is the letter to the body of elders. It is a real hoot.

Wow.

That seems to be the elder's version of the September KM article for the rank and file. "Elders, you don't need to do additional research, we've already done the research for you!" They are plugging up all the independent thinking holes.

I think it's interesting too that it says "it is the collective responsibility of the body of elders in assuring effective teaching." I think they want the body of elders to gang up on any elders that doesn't follow this prime directive.

The next few years are gonna be rough in Watchtower land. There is witch hunt brewing....
