I remember an elder who had just lost a step-son he had helped raise in a car crash. I told him I was sorry for his loss and he snapped back that it wasn't his son and he had strayed from the truth anyway so it didn't bother him.
Or the elder who quit his good job to pioneer and he and his wife cut back on everything including heat for their house. If we went over there in the winter it was never above 55 degrees, we had to keep our coats on.
Or the time a 26 year old brother had a stroke from high blood pressure, I told an elder that he, his wife and two babies needed help financially because he could no longer work (he couldn't walk or talk) and I was told off because aparently the brother could work in this elders opinion, he was just weak (spiritually).
13:34 “I give you a new commandment – to love 86 one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 87 13:35 Everyone 88 will know by this that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”
