would you rather work in a unionized or non-unionized environment?

the place where i work recently voted 'no', we don't want a union in here (after being harassed by a very large union for the last 5 years).

there were some who voted 'yes', but the majority of us voted 'no' and those that were pro-union are quite pissed off that the rest of us 'fail to see the light'.

Dave...have you ever read a book or newspaper in your whole life? Do you make this stuff up all on your own or are you just Sh*ttin' us? Last I heard Kroger's was union...from the meatcutters in Cincinatti to the bagboys and janitors in all the stores. They have been for years.
Labor and unions in areas were there is no work to be found? Or small towns with limited workforce... sounds more like a "collective" you want in those places, Dave. I figured a good conservative Republican like you would understand Communism. The Federal grant that funds your job in the jail... maybe thats why your a little confused.
Please expand on this theory... I think we will find it educational.

Why make prophecies cryptic?

ok, this thread is not about whether or not the bible prophecies are valid.

i just want to know why god would inspire a prophecy about a giant tree, bowls of anger, seven headed animals, the moon turning to blood, the sun going dark, the sea turning to blood, everything else turning to blood multiple times.. counting things in days when he actually means years, using 'times' which don't meen anything.

coal mining is hard and dangerous work, this is one of the few careers that needs a union.

So is construction, jackass.

bush replied, thats interesting, i hadnt heard that.

yet a few minutes later, bush wouldnt answer a question regarding donations for his presidential library because, he claimed, i, frankly, have been focused elsewhere, like on gasoline prices.

So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his
wife flying down the following day.
The husband checked into the hotel.
There was a computer in his room,
So he decided to send an email to his wife.
However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and
without realizing his error, sent the email.
Meanwhile, in Lynchburg, Vriginia, Jerry Falwell's widow had just returned home from her
husband's funeral, and decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and
friends.
After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted.
Her children rushed into the room, found their mother on the floor, and saw
the computer screen which read:

Why Is Relgion So Focused on Eschatology - to the Point of Obsession?

one of the major concepts that seems to be found in virtually all of the world's major religions is that of eschatology - the study of the end things, specifically the end of the world.

this is one idea that unites the disparate religions of the world.

furthermore, eschatological concerns constitute a link or a bridge between the religions currently practised in the world, and other ancient, forgotten religions.

Another possible explanation for the fascination with eschatology is the fear of being lost in eternal nothingness, oblivion, upon death.

To connect our lifetime with some sort of apocalypse may add a sense of meaning or importance to an otherwise terrifyingly random and vain existence.

Apocalypses almost invariably signal the death and destruction, oftentimes ghastly agonizing, of our enemies and/or perceived abusers while providing for our eternal salvation and bliss.

What's not to love about an apocalypse?
