i've just heard that they are going to do away with circuit overseers.. is this true or just a rumour?.

The only problem I have with this is the control issue.
The borg does not like giving up control over anything.
So I ask, why would they give up direct control over the congregations?
I understand not being sued, but it seems to be a big loss of power for little gain.

Perhaps they're handpicking the most loyal of the local elders by means of the seminars that are they're attending at the WEC to see who qualifies for the job?

This may turn out to be a genius move.

These guys may turn out to be even more ardent in their support of HQ than the CO's they're replacing.

Many traveling overseers had some negative dealings with the home office that caused them to be somewhat disgruntled and apathetic.

Barack Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro).

Barack Obama Sr. was born in Kenya.

He was descended from the Luo tribe that inhabited Kenya and Tanzania.

He was as much an atheist as he was an Islamist.

To call the man a Muslim is to call Ray Franz one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

As for what percentage of him was Arab, perhaps some photos would be helpful...

humans seem to have a need to make sense of and explain things.

as such, religions and other unprovable ideas fill a needed gap in the human experience--that of the desire to know why we're here and where we came from.

but, have you ever stopped and wondered if we are better off knowing everything?

that a surpreme being is gonna help us?.

on another thread that i started i asked what is wrong with the new age ideas.

some people seem so afraid of it.. one poster mentioned that new age stuff is incorrect because jesus is for sure gonna come take us away from this world.. now i am opened minded.

Nvrgnbk~I don't have an answer to your question. One thing I do think is that, when I got out to the trash can and heard the screaming, my first thought was that it was a domestic dispute between spouses and that I would be foolish to intervene, might get myself killed. Then I heard the father screaming about the blood and decided, against my better judgment, to go check out the situation. I had an opportunity to make a choice as to whether or not I would help. I chose to help. Maybe in other situations, people decided not to help.
