here's the story in a nutshell.

i stepped aside as elder in a foreign language congregation with a resignation letter in august.. i cited doubts in doctrine concerning "this generation" and 1975, and also said i don't "know".

the governing body well enough to teach their doctrine.

now that it is basically non- existent who are those kings supposed to be now?.

Exactly the same here! When you make it clear in no uncertain terms, lovingly and diplomatically of course, that you'll be tolerating zero bulls@#t, it's pretty much over. The last thing the branch wants is to expose a long line of elders to your logical, coherent, sincere questions and concerns that they have no decent reply for.

I bet they do nothing. They don't want to touch you. Every time they think of you they're reminded of their own doubts. The C.O. cares about three square meals a day, no mortgage/rent, and all the green handshakes he can get and nothing more. You scare them crapless. Having said that, continue to take the high road. You'll gain nothing with confrontation.

Thanks Blondie. This is the first time I express my appreciation to you for your efforts but they've helped me for some time now.

I especially like your comments on par.2. The following is what I'd love to say at tomorrow's study if I were to attend:

In one breath the organization tells the workers not to be concerned about the overwhelming lack of response to their efforts- that the success of the ministry is not determined by the results obtained. In the next breath they're bragging about how all the "increases" in disciples and literature distribution are clear, unequivocal evidence of Jehovah's rich blessing. Articles bashing other religions state clearly that a large membership in no way, shape, or form is any indication of God's seal of approval. I'm so confused. Oh wait, that's just how they want it.
