  recently i talked to an elder friend, who is used to and tolerates my liberal thinking about the "truth", about restrictions after df'ing and reproof.

  i asked for the scriptural reasons for such.

  he proceeded to hem and haw, "well they are necessary for blah, blah...." i repeated scriptural .

  The bible doesn't clearly say it is not and it doesn't clearly say that is.

  It is clearly about interpetation, what you put first and what you are slave to, and that should be God. If one is addicted to something, they do as a rule put their addiction first, before their families and probably before God making them a slave to their addiction. This is the repetitive stuff I heard before I left in 74. I'm surprised that I, an Atheist, remembered it.

  As for commenting at meeting's, just a stupid rule. Average attendance at my KH was about 100 and there were about 5 people who raised their hand to comment all the time. 1/20th, are you in that group of 1/20th? If not, then I wouldn't let it bother you.

  Better question. You are apparently aware of inconsistancies and the stupid things they do, why are you there in the first place?

  Baby it's cold outside

  it's snowing outside, i'm still in bed cuz i was told to stay there and wait for something special by my eight year old son and i'm listening to npr ( tom jones is being interviewed).

  i wonder how long the snowing will last.

  9 degrees in my backyard this morning with strong winds.

  On the way to work I had to use my coffee mug as an ashtray because I couldn't open the electric windows on my truck, frozen from yesterday's snow.

  i have just realized what crap material items the witlesses live with.

  just now, i went through my place and marked the things that the witlesses stocked me up with at the time i moved in 1x years ago (more work, hounders, to figure out just when).

  and i found plenty of crap.. first, the "furniture" was flimsy wicker.

  Depression or Recession?

  i went to jobs and family resources yesterday.

  the man i talked to said the country is not in a recession like the president said on december 1st.

  he said we are in a depression, much like 1947. he said things will continue like this for decades.

  The J&F Resourse man also said, I should keep my jobs as I continue to look, and that my husband may want to reconsider retiring

  Good advice. One could easily be unemployed for a very long time and that doesn't look good on an application for employment.

  Medically, you just never know what kind of an emergency you may have. Currently I'm paying more for a policy than I would if I paid the medical bill. That could change overnight.

  401K, do you still have one?

  several years ago i considered starting one.

  didn't understand it at all.

  the hr dept where i work had closed and to start a 401k i had to do it online.

  did you put the money you would have saved in a 401K somewhere else?

  Just a savings account. Over the years the interest rate has dropped to half of a percent. That isn't earning much. I'm still in the company retirement plan that will always grow. Money put in by my employer and I can't contribute to it, that's why the 401 plan is available. If I live and stay employed where I am 12 more years, I could retire with 1 million dollars. After taxes that isn't a lot.

  LOL ninja.

  My wife has lost half of her money. I say do something about it. She tries to explain to me it isn't that easy. I just don't understand. I spend 2 dollars a week on the lottery for the last 10 years, break even and she call's me a gambler.
