  IP-SEC-I wasn't referring to you bro, you're cool by me... we just simply disagree, but you still don't get the point I'm making maybe that's becasue I'm slightly dislexic and have a hard time on this site... Maybe it's my fault. We don't have to agree about gun control to see the logic in the argument. That's my point... it's like everyone sees the argument so black and white and it's really not that simple... arms in the case of the second amendment means weapons; weapons in our forefathers day aren't the same as they are today, so the second amendment can't be viewed as a carte blanche to make all arms legal, where does it stop? That's my question, where in your mind does your ability to own a weapon stop?

  I just want to know why someone can make a post with a complete argument, it makes rational sense but the person replying only argues half of what was posted which makes the orginal argument not sound rational-but in reality its the answer that's irrational? Then after they've completely missed the point someone was making they call that same person names? why does that happen everytime someone posts desention? Again, here's the point, gun control laws aren't unconstitutional... I frearking know that nuclear weapons are "apples and oranges" compared to Uzzis for christs sakes... I was trying to get those who don't believe in gun control laws to see that they're not unconstitutional thats all... I was using hyperbolye to make that point.... what was the writers of the constitution's intent? that's really what this arguemtnis all about....did they intend us to use arms that wern't even invented yet? God god! Are all of you incapaible of reading a post that disagrees with yours with out calling names... I've refrained from name calling up to this point becasue I think calling names on the internet is cowardice, but come on guys-for the love of God! Are you all too damn stupid to get even the most simple point without this utter bull? For the love of every thing sacred can't you at least get the absolute fact that this is a ratonal argument... and you know what? The supreme court agrees with me...

  Now, with that in mind, thank you apostate, you have made a very valuable point and I stand corrected... thank you!

  Ip-Sec-I see that point and agree, there are many things that are dangerous that are legal. The problem with the gun control argument is like many others-everyone tries to make the issue black and white but it's not that simple... a slingshot, my 38 special and my shotgun aren't as dangerous as a banna clip Uzzi; you're rigght that we need to debate what should and shouldn't be legal, but that should be the debate... I'll start with an extreme, I think nuclear "arms" shouldn't be legal. I also don't care for the fact that Uzzis can be bought legally... but here's the argument-whether you agree with that shotguns or sidearms should be leagl or not, to deny one a right to buy a nuclear "arm" is perfectly constitutional becasue our framers didn't have knowledge these things were going to be invented. They also didn't know that Uzzis swould one day be made... since they didn't know these things they wern't talking about them when they pinned the 2 amendment. WHat say you?

  Where in the constitutin does it say the word Gun? It says arms, a nuclear weapon is an arm but we can't own one. I believe in controlluing what weapons we can own and that's totally constitutional according to judical review.... the framers were talking about flintlocks not Uzzis.

  There's empirical evidence to refute the orginal post... every country where gun controls are enforced there's less gun violence than those that don't have such legislation... excluding Canada... But I'm a gun owner, so I'm not actually for complete gun control... as for the constitution.... it doesn't mention guns at all, it says arms... a nuclear weapon is an arm also, does this country have the right to keep it's citiznes from owning nuclear weapons-darn right it does... and so this country has the right to enforce a limited amouont of gun control for that reason... its called judicial review, what did the framers mean when they wrote the second amendment? THey were talking about flintlocks not Uzzis, there needs to ba a limited amount of gun control, debating how much is useful but whatever laws that are made should be useful by empirical evidence.

  All I know is that every country where guns are banned there's less gun violence... for that matter less violent crime... with the exception of Canada. I own two guns so I'm certainly not against ownership but facts are facts.

  15-years ago today, i was 40-years old.

  my wife was 39, my kids were 20, 18, 16, and 14. we were in our exit process to be completed by july 1992. i gave my last talk as a jw, the memorial talk.

  i resigned the following sunday, giving up my position as public talk coordinator, and never returned again ... except for a funeral, a wedding, and one last memorial a year later (i didn't want to go, but i attended as a favor to one kind jw.).

  Happy Birthday Jim!

  I thought your letter showed emotion and why souldn't it? The WTBTS makes me sick and I'm pissed if you aren't. I think the saddest thing so far is the protections they've given to pedophiles all the while attacking the Catholics; they need to remove the rafter from their own eyes before looking at someone else. They're one sad group though, familes destroyed, pedophiles protected, every minute of everyday working for a corporation... sad, really sad.

  Funny story about a funeral

  my uncle died last month (father's side), so i mustered up the courage to attend the funeral; he was never baptised and i was never disfellowshipped so folks still talk to me thinking i'm da not realizing i'm a full flegged apostate-this has since changed as i've decided to come forward since then.

  so the elder gets up and gives the funeral sermon complete with many of the bible myths talking snake and all... sounds like a damn bad acid trip.

  so after the graveside service one of my old friends i haven't seen in 17 years comes up and says "did you learn anything by todays sermon'?
