It all starts off pretty benign, when she suddenly says "Well, you believe man can solve the problems of this world"... She says this because I've ran for political office twice, losing once.
I know where this is going... so I say "I've never said that is our only hope, I just recognize that I live in this reality today, I'm here now, and God's kingdom isn't.. it's the men here now that run things, if God ever steps in, then I'll gladly move aside as I'm sure any man would".
She says something to the effect, that we disagree on that? That of course pisses me off, so I say "how do we disagree"? "Look, God's kingdom isn't here, who else is going to run things if it isn't men, and as long as it has to be men in the mix, it shows proper love for my neighbor to run for office if I think I have good ideas and I think I can help".
She suddenly has to go....
I call her back and leave a message that further explains why I feel what I do... she calls back and says "she hasn't the energy to debate me now". WTF?
Here's the point, if "bad things happen when good men do nothing" or something to that effect, then me, being a good man, should step forward and do something. I know that Jesus' kingdom is no part of this world, I don't know if I believe this but the Bible says it's so... but the fact remains that I live in the now, I'm in this world and God's kingdom isn't here now, men are in command and I want me, and my neighbors to live in as good a world as possible. Who else is going to run things if it isn't men/women like me? We need more good people in politics; how can we do unto others if we allow bad/greedy/self serving men take control? How can we love our neighbor?
I've seen no biblical explanation as to why a so called "Christian" can't be in political office... what the hell? Yet one more thing the JW's have wrong.

You have no legal right to be there, you did the right thing by leaving. Even though the meetings are supposed to be public, they have the right to crowd control, and they would have said you were making a disturbance or something like that; the Cops would have taken you out had you refused... I know that first hand.
Screw them man, they're lost... they know they can't talk to someone that knows the truth, they can't allow dissent because their lies don't stand up to scrutiny. Keep on plugging one on one, its the only way to make an impact. -

Elder calling around

there is one elder in the cong who calls around every so often to "chat" as i only stopped attending meeting a couple of months ago.
i've spoken to him about certain subjects - eg the un thing and the misuse of quotes - but he has no useful answers for me.

I've got a laffer for you rat... they came to my damn house when my UGA Bulldawgs were playing... I was finishing a bong toke and drinking a beer. I told them they never answer my questions and only give me BS answers, but I liked them as friends, so, if they were going to come in my house on Saturday, we weren't going to talk that JW BS, but they were welcome to come in and drink a beer... LOL
