"He probably would've had to have had the procedure done anyway".
Yea, he may have... but what if he chose not to, didn't the doctor think he should at least ask before he cuts off a man's most important appendage? Bastard would have to sedate me if he cut off my favorite play toy without asking... LOL!
This is a lawsuit this man can't lose... I guarantee you that... -

by Nancy Drake ini've been much better with all the exjw stuff, and sorta moved on...but i'm having a rough day today, and i would like to get some thoughts out.. i'm particularly upset today because of my parents.
i've been shunned by my parents pretty much for the past 11 years since i've been disfellowshiped.
they tell me that they are allowed to call me for family business and such.

Speaking of depression ...
by easyreader1970 ini didn't want to hijack the suicide topic because it was a bit more serious than what i am about to say.
not that what i am about to say is comical.
i've been dealing with major depression for the past year and a half or so.

Man, I know what you mean, I was suicidal when I first discovered the real truth about the WT... we all know the implications of leaving. Losing loved ones, friends, and the like-that's depressing as hell.
No one can tell you what to do, only you know that... but my guess is you'll eventually do as any sane person would do and stop tormenting yourself by being the person you really are. Its torture to not be true to yourself. That is what drives you to the breaking point; that coupled with the overwhelming evidence that the religion is shit and founded on lies. Those two things eventually weigh you down to the point you have to do something... I think for each one of us it's different because of the overwhelming thoughts plaguing our minds of the things we have to give up, some have more at risk, like kids and such...
But it don't matter, you'll eventually give... in some way. I wish you the best man, I really do... its a tough road ahead, and I envy you not, but its better on the other side. It takes awhile, but freedom is exhilarating, you get better in the end.
I hope it works out for you and you suffer little from it, and all your family gets out of this nonsense. Best of luck friend... Huff -

I'm never around JWs now, I haven't been to the KH in years.... but one time years ago, an Elder, that was a real ass wipe, tried to shun me in my hometown... in my hometown I'm pretty well known as a clown.. I have tons of friends...
I went to the elder and very loudly asked him if he was avoiding me? He said he was... it's been years so if I tell this wrong, its because of the time...But I said in a real loud voice..."this man is shunning me because he's a JW... they say they are Christ like but won't talk to anyone that disagrees with their teachings... or something to that effect...
He started briskly moving away... but I followed explaining as I went how JW act towards ex members... it was funny as hell. -

Someone asked this...."Why drag up JWism if it isn't needed".
Let's see, its needed to tell anyone that's abusive to you that their yucking behavior isn't acceptable., that's why!
So, if I'm reading this right, you've decided the JWs don's have the truth? Then that means your values, your morality is different than your dad's, yet he feels it's perfectly acceptable to tell you your values are deplorable to him. And he's the one who's saying to you that he's no longer willing to accept your values... he's willing to shun you, show you he cares less about your decisions becasue they aren't what HE wants....
He doesn't respect you nor the way your mind guides you to live... if you aren't shunning him, and he's shunning you... then he's being abusive... period!
So, "why drag up JWism if it isn't needed"? Looks pretty needed to me since this is the reason he's deciding to abuse you. Isn't he the one that's bringing up religion? Sure looks that way to me....
Don't take this deplorable behavior from your dad nor anyone else... it does no good and fuels the fire in their minds that they are right in their foolishness. Tell him that you find his religion unacceptable, and your contention lies in the fact that it effects your relationship with him ONLY. That HIS RELIGION has caused a huge rift in your relationship with him, and caused his continued abuse of you... and if he wants to have ANY DEALING WHATSOEVER, with you then this behavior must stop.
How you do it is one thing, but to take his continued abuse just doesn't make sense to me. -

Interestingly enough, as an outdoors man, a fisherman, a hunter, a owner of several weapons.... I feel the exact same way you do about it Leavingwt.
I also recognize the framers were interested in a "well regulated" militia... good that you stand up for our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution; but are not blindly following those who tout unregulated ownership of arms..
