Atheists comfort themselves by accusing believers of being "ignorant" and of not fully understanding evolution. The real problem for atheists is that they have no desire at all to get acquainted with the creator, and sadly for them they will never get to know what is experienced by those who have an intimate relationship with him.Believers have an advantage that atheists don't. We can read and study and take courses on atheistic evolution and be free to reject it. But atheists can never gain the insights that are available to those who have a person-to-person relationship with the God who resides beyond-this-natural-world, the God who reveals himself only to those who are looking for him.Atheists can scoff, but they are extremely limited in what they can know for sure. Why this us verses them attitude? Personal experiences don't count as an argument. What god do you believe in? Is it the Christian? if it is what do you say about someone who has a personal experience with Krishna or Buddha? Do they count? One more thing if I understand you must have faith in god first then he reveals himself to you, is that right?

Why I am an atheist
by Awakened at Gilead insomeone (a born-again exjw) on youtube asked me why i was an atheist... i crafted a brief response... it follows:.
1. religious reason: there is no proof for god outside of the bible.
once i dropped my belief in the bible, the judeo-christian concept of god fell apart like a house of cards.

Choosing Death (for born ins)
by brinjen init's a powerful weapon isn't it?
death.
it was used on all of us at one stage when we were inside of that cult.

Very well said brinjen, it takes a lot of strength to leave, especially those of us who have family still in. When I look at my friends and family who still believe, they seem to be dead inside all they talk about is what their are told they should talk about. They just parrot and repeat what they read in a WT or what they hear at a meeting and the rest is superficial, "How's work? Crazy weather..." Sad.

Snowbird made a good point about it being HER rules and not the rules imposed by a printing company.
My dad owns a duplex. He rents the second floor and lives on the first floor. My sister left her boyfriend an few months ago and needed a place to stay. My dad had no one living in the apartment above him so he told my sister she could live there for while until she had enogh $ to find a place of her own. Well she was living there for a few weeks and was not sure if she was going to go back with her boyfriend. She would spend the night at his place once and a while. Wen my dad's wife found out she kick my sister out because she could not accept a fornicator living above her. WTF? What about all the other people who lived there before? I later learn that my dad and his wife believed my sister would start to study again after leaving her boyfriend and that's why they probably were willing to help her.

Too many people
by John Doe intry to turn internet discussions into their own personal pissing matches.
how much can anyone learn and what knowledge can be expanded when posters vest a personal interest in a position, rather than a personal interest in learning?
this never has made sense to me.. .

I agree with John. I believe at first I might have done this a few times before I realised it. I think the reason why I and maybe others would do this is probably overcompensation. In the Borg we were not allowed to have an opinion that was different from the collective. Now that we are free to think we must learn from scratch, especially those of us who were raised in it. I have learn a lot because of the Internet and by having friends that were never in a mind controlling cult.

"why is this happening to me?" Very funny and sad. I'm surprised that they give something so strong to kids. I don't think it's something they do here in Quebec but then again we are the province that has the most Ritalin prescription, 25% more then the rest of the country.

The show must go on..
by Anti-Christ inwhen i started to discover all the lies of the wt i could not dream of going back and now that i know so much more then before about the bible , there is no way in hell that i can ever go back.
my family and in-laws that are still in all know i believe the wt is full of crap and they don't bother talking to me about it.. i know a few jw that are still in but by their actions they show that they don't believe what the wt teaches and they still go along with it.
i will give some examples.

Dismembered"
I know there is so many other examples, I know I could not continue "faking it"
"I hope we see massive amounts of people getting disfellowshipped or just plain quitting in the near future. That ought to make them take down their 7 f***ing million down to zero."
I also,... maby one day but I think they will just slowly fade away

I Know a few JW that are still in but by their actions they show that they don't believe what the WT teaches and they still go along with it. I will give some examples. I am out shopping one day and I see a JW friend that I haven't seen in a while. I say hi and ask her what's new, she tells me that she left her husband for an other man and that she is finally happy after years of depression. I told her I was very glad to hear that and I said it's great that she found the courage to leave her husband and the WT. She said no I'm going back to the meetings to get reinstated, I was like what???? You just said you were unhappy following the bible principles and the JW lifestyle and you want to go back? She then realised I "turned apostate" and did not want to continue the discussion.
An other example. One of my friends sister has this blood disease that causes her to have anemia. She got married a couple of years ago and becomes pregnant. This is a big problem because she will need blood transfusions all throughout the pregnancy. Only her family knows she pregnant, what does she do? Well she has an abortion, problem solved nobody needs needs to know.
I don't judge what these people did but I don't understand why they remain JW, the clearly show by their action that they disagree with WT polices and beliefs but they remain JW. I guess the show must go on...
