What's with all the JWs unleashing the hate!?
by Julia Orwell inmost of us here on jwn, while we can get a bit narky at times, can put forth intelligent arguments and sound observations.
sure we can get bogged down with our opinions, but generally we back up our opinions with examples and evidence, and if someone has a different opinion with examples and evidence, we accept that without recriminations.
that's what adults do.. so my question is, why in the last week or so, have a couple of posters claiming to be jws come onto this forum and berated, spewed hate and judgement, and in some cases verbally attacked members personally?

I renenber growing up that we had Friday nights for the longest time, then when it switched over to Wednesday in the 70's you realize how a Friday night meeting is a killer. Just think how you enjoy coming home on Friday knowing you have weekend off, but you have to out to the meeting ? Even my Uber Dub mother said that.

JeffT you say that you two look like children, that's probably because you were, between 19- 25 (just my guess from the pic) and since we're around the same age, you got married in 74' and I gradauted HS in '75, you know that the only reason 99.9 per cent of the young JW kids got married back then was just so they could "hit the sheets" legally.

Why did they write a new bible?

however, if the work is made available to the public during that time then copyright expires 70 years from the end of the calendar year in which it is first made publicly available.i wonder if this is the motive for a new bible?

I tend to buy their reason the old one was pretty hard to read in todays english
I remember when I was growing up my mother always said when asked if the JW Bible is different, she would say that just the "thee" and "thou" and all those words are not in the Dub Bible, funny that all other REAL religions seem to have no problem.

Yes, the baby could've been hurt, that's why as the saying goes "do your dirty by yourself" ESPECIALLY when the other human being is an infant. There's just some things that are obviously wrong and trying to speed and crash into the White House and/or Capitol gates is one of them.

Hubby's going to the big meeting instead of celebrating our anniversary

The internet should be in an open place in your house!
by hoser inno internet in the bedroom or office as per suggestion of the watchtower.
this keeps your husband off those online dating sites and porn sites.
the only flaw in this is when you go grocery shopping and he is all alone in the house..

Talk out loud in public places...new preaching method? And go bags..
by snare&racket ini have been told of two things i had not heard of before.. one is a new preaching method, going to public places in a group e.g.
a cafe, and then talking of the topic quite loudly, for example maybe studying a watchtower or a chapter in a publication.
the idea being that people listen in and enquire etc etc.

I know someone that grew up in Baltimore and KH weddings that she attended while growing up (in the 70's and 80's) were not permitted to spin records at the reception, I've never heard of that one before, what scripture did they twist and turn to get that one from?

I made a huge mistake
by KariOtt inits been a tough 6 months for my jw hubby and myself.
next saturday is our anniversary.
i wasn't sure we would make it with the turbulance of the last 6 months.

Kari - Your last post above brings up several questions ! He's JW but you mention 4 times he's cheated? Was he ever DFd for this? So many questions about that,I mean, I know of a Bro that was DFd 4 or 5 times, is that the same with your husband, or all this was kept undercover by the elder?
