I'm curious, when you were asked to do a demo for a Service Meeting part, how did the request make you feel?
by Stand for Pure Worship indid you decline out of fear?
decline because you hated doing demos?
accept the request graciously?

WHAT JW TYPES DO YOU REMEMBER IN YOUR CONG???
by ADJUSTMENTS init seems in most congregations there is always the same personality types of brothers and sisters in each congregation.
self righteous ones.
holier than thou, exemplary, with dc/ca parts every year family.

What Freddo said: The mentally unbalanced = half every cong I've been in.
Also, the elder brother who has a son who has impregnated women all over town which makes Bro Elder lose his eldership, so he transfers to a congregation far away from his current one so he can retain his eldership, ahh, Jah's heavenly spirit was obsviously at work at that sly maneuver, wasn't it?

One thing that Mormons do that is similar to pioneering, or serving where the need is great is that when young men (not sure if it applies to females as well) in their late teens are early 20's they go somehwere, not just in the US to do their preaching work. They call it be a specific name but can remember what it is, I heard Donny Osmond say in an interview that when his sons reached a certain age they "went where the need is great" so to speak.

by ADJUSTMENTS inin mexico there was a jw family of 8 killed with machetes it's very heartbreaking!
the problem i have is why does the wbats not make a mention of things like this in the yearbook!!!
they will tell you about how a brothers chickens didn't die and how jehovah must have blessed him... but if a whole family is killed where is the mention of jehovah now??????????????????????????????????????

I guess Mexico is no longer considered "blessed and highly favored" by Jehovah, or I should say the old guys in Brooklyn.
Remember the story from COC, what Mexico was allowed to do that Malawi was not ?

Carrie Underwood tweets, thanking God for successful Sound of Music performance
by adamah inafter a live 3 hour performance, the "american idol" winner tweets,.

I'd rather here Carrie Underwood thank God than alll the rap stars on the awards show, always saying, "first and foremost I'd like to thank my Heavenly Father for making all things possible" !
I have to say that I haven't even watched an awards show in about ten years, but got so tired of hearing them say that !! I remember about 10 are so years ago some awards show was on and iI think it was the group SWV (not sure) but my mother called me and said "who's that girl that just said 'thank you Jehovah" on the Grammys?" are whatever awards show it was. Of course her reason for calling was when Dubs here the name Jehovah on TV they go batshit crazy !!!

Ladies, How Big Is Your Diamond Engagement Ring?
by minimus ini notice a trend that suggests that many ladies either have a one carat or bigger diamond ring or much smaller if any.. do you have a diamond ring and if you do, what size carat is it?
?.

Like what 3rdgen said, my parents married in 1949, I have my mothers rings. If you hold your fingers together to show how thick the engagement and wedding band are, your fingers would just about be touching each other. Both bands are extremely thin, but the engagement band has teeny diamonds from running from side to side, wedding band just about the same accept for much larger, portruding stone in the middle. Her fingers were much larger than mine, so they only would fit on my thumb without falling off, wish I could wear them. Have to say I much prefer this style than the big gaudy stones than men buy because they think the larger the stone the more she'll love me. Yeah, that's true. . . . for a while.

Interview at work
by Kool Jo ini conducted an interview for a job last week......... kool jo: welcome to company "x", thank you for taking the time out to attend the interview session as scheduled.. jw applicant: thank you for the oppurtunity.. kool jo: you have an amazing resume, so tell me some more about yourself.... so i asked some traditional questions and then we get to point of the discussion pertaining to....you guessed it...work schedule.. kool jo: so in this industry, you have to be able to work varying hours/shifts ect...since you're going to be the rookie.. jw applicant: well i really love the oppurtunity and i've been unemployed for a while, but i have some questions...would i be able to get saturdays, sundays, and thursday evenings off?.
kool jo: i won't be able to guarantee you that...our clients can be quite demanding and we have to fit into their schedule.. jw applicant: well, the truth is, i'm one of jehovah's witnesses, and i have commitments that are very important to me, hence my reason for asking.. kool jo: (a big wtf moment)...i just pretended i didn't know a thing about jw's....so what happens if a client wants to meet with you on a saturday morning?.
jw applicant: well, i guess i'd have to come for work...you have no idea how happy i am to even be called for an interview.

I never understood how criminal lawyers sleep at night. I always wondered why the folks who have been caught on tape and can 100 per cent be identified by witnesses still get a lawyer, who play the plea bargain game when the person should be thrown under the jail. What appears to be so obvious in criminal law always goes round in circles just as much as civil cases.
