  I made my daughters cry last night.....

  ...when i told them i didn't believe anymore.

  they cried like i'd never seen before.

  my oldest, 10, pleaded with me that she'd do anything to get me to keep going to meetings ("i'll get a's on my report card!").

  They both cried their eyes out, the oldest is 10 and she said she'd get A's on her Report Cards for you "come back to Jah"

  By know means making fun of your offspring Ugottabefresh, but just think back to what you thought was the "gospel" at 10 years old, have no idea how old you are or if your male or female, but just look at the Beliebers who follow that idiot like their next breath depended on it, and I'm sure you've seen the newsclips of all the hysterical girls screaming at the latest moptops from England back in the 1960's.

  It's like parents who for the first time hear "I hate you" or words to that effect from their firstborn, it tears them apart but then when the other kids that came along say that it's like " thank you, go clean your room".

  Took my son (5 yrs) shooting for his first time.

  i went with my neighbor to an outdoor shooting range in the pawnee national grasslands in colorado.

  its about 2 hours northeast of denver.

  it was awesome.

  Dazed - When you posted I guess you knew those who are against guns would post as well. Since I'm allowed my opinion as you are yours shooting at a range is one thing, but when they're in your home and you have kids so I'm sure you know that they can find things that you thought were out of there reach, so with that being said, my thoughts of those who have guns and kids in the house, hope I don't see you on the news one night how one kid shot his brother/sister/neighbor, etc., as you well know, it happens.

  I remember an article in the NYTimes a few years ago about HRT and the responses came pouring in mainly from women of course. So many of them said I'm in my 70 or 80s and they still have hot flashes, so I guess it lasts forever !!

  I keep my fan out year round and at night I open the window a bit, two minutes later I cool down and shut it, three minutes later I open the window, get up three minutes later and shut it again , three minutes later open the window again . . . . . .

  One day I hope to get off the thryoid meds, I read that selenium and iodine supplements are just as good, so I got some research to do. I haven't had any ill effects from the levothroxine (sp) but I'm just thinking of the long term effect, since one time the Dr. bumped it up to 125 mg from 100 and I started getting pains in the back of my thighs, plus the fact their was no rhyme or reason why he bumped it up unless he get a bigger paycheck from big Pharma or something.

  my daughter told me that all her teenage friends used to smoke tobacco, pot, do drugs, get drunk and "misbehave" with other kids all the time..

  "When you were a Witness did you misbehave"? Gee Min, I'm sure you're shocked to find out that many folks indeed did misbehave . . . NOT !!

  Oh please, the question should be who didn't misbehave when the were Dubs, which is nothing new I'm sure. There's a bowling alley across the street from Yankee Stadium and although I haven't been at an Assembly there since the early 1970's, the brothers always made a sweep of the place while the Assembly was going on and the funny thing to me is they always left on their badges while they were misbehaving, which is how the brothers could scout them out.

  Remember when Jimmy Carter admitted to that back in the 1970's and he got absolutely vilified by other folks who I'm sure have done the same things?

  Kinda like a few politicians who were quite vocal and called for Clinton to be kicked to the curb, when it was discovered that they were doing the same thing!

  the light sentence has only became public as the result of a subsequent lawsuit filed by his ex-wife, which charges that he penetrated his daughter with his fingers while masturbating, and subsequently assaulted his son as well.. richards is the great grandson of du pont family patriarch irenee du pont, a chemical baron.. according to the lawsuit filed by richards' ex-wife, he admitted to assaulting his infant son in addition to his daughter between 2005 and 2007. richards was initially indicted on two counts of second-degree child rape, felonies that translate to a 10-year mandatory jail sentence per count.

  so as not to hijack logcon's thread about crazy things jw's have said to householders, i'd like to start one about just plain old odd jw's.. for example, i knew this dear, dear senior brother who would carry a small bag of peanuts in one pocket of his suit coat and a small plastic bag of brown sugar in the other.. during that time, we would stay out all day long because the territory was extensive.. can't you just picture that precious soul alternately tossing a few peanuts/crumbs of sugar into his mouth as he schlepped from house to trailer, from trailer to house?.

  the householders would usually offer us water, lemonade, kool-aid, or soda pops, so no problem with finding something to quench our thirsts.. those were the days!.

  I remember that, I think there was some kind of mention of that in the Ministry School are something about sisters riding in the car with brothers, because of a friend of my mothers, if she was in the car with my father and he was dropping off other folks and she was the last one because she lived close to us, if for some reason she started out in the front seat, when the car got emptier she would get in the back seat. . . just think, all those idiotic rules is what folks still believe will let them live forever without dying!

  Eccentric JWs? Isn't that redundant, or does Mentally ill better describe it?

  I will always firmly believe that something has to be wrong with anyone who willingly follows the drivel they come up with.

  I was a born in but never was interested in it. If folks don't see the light after awhile after they've been baptized, then they need psychiatric counseling for a problem they had way before becoming JW.
