Well, even if it is true, I'm sure it's safe to say it didn't happen in the U.S.
Unless it happened in some off the grid small southern town or something
ok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.
Well, even if it is true, I'm sure it's safe to say it didn't happen in the U.S.

a poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.
All the meetings on one day? That's pure torture, never heard of that before.
I thought the fifteen minute break was for us kids to go load up on candy before the watchtowel started. Never knew it was to drive home studies, but then, wouldn't you want them to stay for the whole meeting?
i think i'm going to get flamed for this, but it needs to be said.. this kid is full of bravado, and if his head is as stuffed full of muslim ideology, as my head was once stuffed full of christian ideology, he probably believes that allah (the other face of yahweh) wants him to do it, and that if he dies in the effort, he will be rewarded in paradise.. before i post his story, please consider that the ideology of martyrdom, has both a christian face and a muslim face.
ignatius, the second bishop of antioch, wanted to die for jesus, just as the young man in the following story, likely imagines that he is willing to die for allah.. ok, that's out of the way, so here's the story:.
bankstown boy threatens prime minister tony abbott in islamic state recruitment videodate: october 21, 2014 david wroe and natalie o'brien.
Ummm, check out that guys junk, seems like he has some extra pieces to the puzzle
that is the question for the next months ... i am 32 and i will turn 33 on december....i am freaking out!!!
my hubby and i have no children and we are not looking for one right now because im studying a masters.
i will finish subjects in june and after that i will write my thesis (6 more months).
Something tells me you're not quite ready, since that's a matter between you and your husband. Everyone's situtation is different, there are some women who were finishing up there education and were able to handle a baby plus school without too many problems and then there are those that probably struggled and wish they had waited.
my girlfriend's daughter and her fiancee asked me to marry them last night.
they live in connecticut and will be married in new york.
i felt honored that i was asked but i don't think i can do it because i am not a clergyman or minister and my u derstanding is that only clergy or judges and lawyers and justice of the peace can perform a wedding ceremony and marry a couple.. does anyone have any information on this subject?
I wouldn't think it's too hard to be authorized to perform a wedding in NY State, I don't know if you were a fan of Joan Rivers but a month or so before she passed she posted on her Twitter page pictures of a gay couple that she officially married, not just going thru the motions. So if the state approved an entertainer I guess they'd approve just about anybody.
grrrrrrrrrrrrr!.
check out website for dunedin, nzs newspaper www.odt.co.nz re the 9yr old that got baptised at the convention in dunedin this last weekend... can't you just hear everyone there gushing about it??.
as i said grrrrrrrrrrrrr .
Needless to say, this nine year old wasn't the first at that age to get dunked for Jah/8 old guys in Brooklyn
The thing about it is that the Dubs get all smug and talk about how in Christendom they baptize infants, well nine years old is not an infant, but there's a reason why a child can't sign a contract.
what an amazing story.
to hear her describe it, it sounds exactly like the controlling, abusive environment many of us were raised in, except i didn't get to spend 2 years confined to an extravagent hotel in switzerland.
she escaped at age 22 after: dum-da-da-dum!
You just know if a JW reads that the obvious points will go clear over their head and they won't even see that basically they're lving the same life but belong to a different cult.
my girlfriend's dad who is 82 lost his second wife to cancer last october.
while she was dying, he secretly was seeing another woman, in her 60s.
long story short, a month after the wife's death, they both moved in together and in early june , they secretly got married.
The story that Lois Lane tells on the first page of this thread makes sense to me, I'm just wondering if that woman that LL talks about is the one that married someone's father that I know. After the father died this professional widow had things sewn up and taken care of and proabably moved on to her next victim/husband, but I guess as long as she remains a faifthful servant of Jah, well, that's the MOST important thing . . .isn't it ?
i don't post here much anymore, but i am working on a project with a few academics from my area who are in the psychology field.
we are looking for printed evidence in their literature that jehovah's witnesses train their publishers/pioneers to target people who are suceptible to being recruited - i.e.
people who have experienced a loss, or who are emotionally vulnerable.
Don't know if they use this anymore but there was a tract called "Hope for the Dead" that my mother used to give people who just lost a loved one, which was bascially promising them that they would see that person again during the Paradise . . . (makes me sick just to think of that)
As soon as a Dub found out you lost someone thru death they'd whip that one out on you
I heard you on the conference call this past Saturday, but unfortunately they were having technical problems and your audio was fading in and out.
