Just ask them to explain the scripture that says "no man knows the day nor hour".
Ask them if they believe that scripture, and they always says yes, then ask why do the Dubs always act like the Big A is just around the corner.

The Witnesses Are Really Trying Hard To Get Me Back In
by minimus inat my mom's bed side all i see is either jw family or friends making a concerted effort to have me return to their fold.
evidentlyy, my mom has encouraged this and i'm a trapped prisoner, as they do their best to have me come back.
it's bad enough that i have to endure my mom's dying, now i have to be bombarded with this bs..

there i was attracted to his father (aged around 80) who seemed to be very healthy.

by ShirleyW ini'm noticing that when i open quite a few of the posts here i notice that the end of the sentences on some lines are breaking improperly.
like for the word paragraph, it's broken up with the "aph" on the next line for an example.
it's happening a lot i'm seeing it just about in every post i open, is it just my view and my computer?.

Remember when you could wear casual clothes to the congregation book study?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini would get home from work,eat dinner,shower and put on jeans,a shirt and gym shoes to the book study.
then,one day a letter was read where men would need to wear a suit and tie and the woman would have to wear dresses.
it was stated in a letter that the change was due to, '' giving a better witness to anyone who would watch us walking into our local congregation or a neighbor's house.''.

Well, like i said, must be a regional thing since the Dubs are never on the same page anyway. What part of the country are you. I know that some brothers are allowed to have mustaches and close cropped beard in the western part of the country.

A call from family - Armageddon this month!
by kaik ini very seldom receive a call from my jw siblings, i mean seldom.
i can count them on my hand in past 10 years.
while we talk about mom a lot and i am in touch with her, i was very surprised when i received this call.

That's funny how they always preach doom and gloom is just around the corner, but if you ask them about the scripture that says "no man knows the day or hour" they agree with that too!! These folks need to wake up and listen to how they talk out of both sides of their mouths, but we know that will never happen.

Well, I haven't been to a meeting since the 1980's so, I guess after then the brothers started wearing jeans and sneakers. I can't really imagine that being OK by the elders anyway to wear that to a meeting even if it's not at the KH, maybe it's a regional thing where the brothers could dress like that, sound like west coast, California thinking to me.
