Do the old timers here remember song number 1 from the old green songbook, it was called "Hail Him" growing up in the sixties, I remember we sang that one just one time, you can tell it's taken from a gospel rock and roller, really got you going, I know I"m not the oldest here but does anyone else remember song #1 from the old green songbook?

I remember the old green songbook that Sparky mentions.
Does anyone know if the song Take SIdes WIth Jehovah is still in the songbook? How about that song from purple songbook that was written by a brother from Hawaii, you could tell it was straight out of Hawaii by the melody.

What is the biggest hypocrisy you have seen as a witness?
by HereIgo ini have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

scratchme1010 - How did you ever sit through your JC meeting and not out that elder? His offense is bigger than yours since he's an elder, even worse if he's married with children.

Counting time
by Emma ini may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.
i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.
yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.

I've seen a sister on the subway train holding the rags in front of her for the whole ride. If she does that every morning and evening she must be racking up some serious hours, these folks are such blind jackasses and they don't even know it.

What's The First "Worldly" Thing You Did When You Exited The Cult?
by pale.emperor inwhen you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.
for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.
i wanted to learn everything that i thought i already knew.. first things i did:.

If you think about it, the prohibited JW things you did after you left or the same things some JWs do while they still claim to be a faithful servant of Jehovah, but they'er doing it behind closed doors, sometimes, some of them have been caught. I worked with a sister who was a smoker on my first ever job, don't remember what she brought up about the JWs that caught my ear but I told my mother that I should report her to the elders, for some reason my Uber dub mother wasn't all for that, but I remember at our Circuit Assembly we found the elders from the sisters Cong and I told them her name and her offense, I was just a teen at the time, I bet they probably didn't do a damn thing.

Who is attending the 2016 Annual Meeting this Saturday?
by Londo111 ini'm curious if we will have eyewitness reporters at the stanley theater like we do every year....

Every year they hold the same meeting, everyone waits for new info, turns out to be nothing new, but every year the dubs fall for the hype. I remember some friend from Philly came to stay with my mother here in NYC to attend the meeting, they could've stayed home and just heard the gossip

Help! I need documents about elderly giving
by notalone inwe are facing an immediate need.the society is trying to set up a guardian over a wealthy.we need documents that show that they will try to influence him to get his money..

You said you were in court today, does this person have any relatives? Plus the fact that if this person is elderly I've noticed from just hearing different peoples stories here I think that different states have different rules. Are you able to be the Power of Attorney or Guardian for this person.? Guardianship costs more than POA, but if you could do it you could keep the GB from getting yet another persons money. I was appointed my mothers Guardian, even a child of the person needs to be appointed by the court either Guardian or POA. and I'm another relatives POA.

The picture on the first page of this thread that is black and white, the brother with the bible with his son standing behind him, he goes to my mothers Congregation. His wife is a two-faced bitch, on her FB site you can tell she's trying to break into the singing world, yet still claims to be a faithful servant of Jehovah. Someone from another Congregation a while back in the hall she's Sister Righteous but invite her over and give her glass a wine then the other side comes out.
