i have jw relatives who gave up everything, moved to where the need was greater and they have never been happy.. they've been constantly in poor health, suffered with depression and had feuds within their own jw family.

For those who chose to come in on their own, I guess at first it was all new and exciting for them, but I doubt anyone caught up in that mess of a cult now are 100% indoctrinated now. Even when my mother died six years ago, I'm sure she thought the BIg A would've already been here, although of course she never mentioned that to me, but all the old folks thought the Big A would;ve been here decades ago.

we're told she says she's a jehovah's witness and swears in the tennis court.

Corned Beef

last year i purchased a corned beef package from trader joes.

i love corned beef but my husband didn't so i rarely cooked it for the family.

but trader joes was passing out samples last year, i couldn't resist and hubby decided he liked it but i'm only to buy the corned beef from trader joes.

Tried a new beer called Innis & Gunn, which is made in rum and whiskey casks to give it some flavor, it has a very full taste, quite good, my fave is the rum cask one, the whiskey cask one tastes like a watered down stout, but still doable.

my stepdaughter, who just turned 12, was telling me about her most recent door to door experience and how excited she was to get her first return visit.

i was pretending to be happy for her and not horrified, and listening to the story.

but then she said that the other person with her at the door was her 13 year old friend, also a girl.. i know the org doesn't seem to care much about children and their welfare, but is this normal?

Sounds like whoever took the group out has no concerns for his group whatsoever, when I was around that age in the 70's with my other peers in the KH I never recalled being assigned to one of my friends, always an adult. Now here we are about 40 years later when you really need to look out for young folks and this idiot sends to preteen females door to door ??

Mrs J I love corned beef too, but please don't tell me you boil it death like all these pubs in NYC will do on St. Pats day and the people flow in like they're getting a good meal. Boil it first but then put it in the oven (or broiler) and slather on some mustard and sugar on the top so it will brown, perfection !!
