Just a quick question, who are what is this Sparlock character? Look like it's a cartoon character or some character in an upcoming movie or something?

by discreetslave inwhen i first watched the movie "tangled" with my daughter this scene really creeped me out and made me think of the borg.
it seems with the title of a convention talk "motivate rightheartedones to love .
.their spiritual mother (proverbs 6:20)" they want to bring back the term "mother" for the next generation.

I don't recall the use of "mother" being used when I used to attend either, from the 60's and haven't been to a meeting since the 80's. Maybe it's a regional thing, so many of the BS rules the Borg uses are regional anyway !

Well, I guess he felt a certain Pioneer Sis needed to do more for him, conducted the Watchtower on Sunday, read off with Sis Pioneer on a Wednesday both DF'd, had an affair that was going on for years. But wait, there's more . . . ! They both did their repentant year long run of being Df'd they both divorced their spouses, got reinstated and married and currently still sing the praises of Jah !
So my aggravation with the Borg is . . . HYPOCRISY !! Some can get away with it, some can't.

Hey Syl, I have Meniere's, but more on the "positional vertigo" level. When I turn my head a certain way when trying to sleep can send my whole head spinning, I've noticed that drinking alcohol can set if off for me, I gave up the 80 proof stuff two years ago, can still deal with beer and wine though.

I was in Junior high School when Me & Mrs Jones came out, and I remember that being a no-no although I bought the record.

Would Witnesses drink "the cool-aid" if instructed to by the Governing body?
by Witness 007 inmy anionted mum always said she's "willing to die for the truth like the brothers in the concentration camps".....how many witnesses would do this, like the "heavens gate" suicide group or the tokyo cult that tried to start armagedon with subway gas attacks or even the 9/11 terrorists?.
the brothers in the camps in world war 2 were told by rutherford this is armagedon.
so they thought a quick death and then "poof"...i'm in paradise.. .

It's easy to say you think you would've taken the KoolAid, but when actually faced with it I don't think most Dubbies would do it, because I'm sure they remember the Jim Jones incident and they probably shook their head and got all smug and said oh those poor people followed that cult leader, which of course is what they're doing but won't admit it. So I don't think that would go over to well in Kingdom Hall Land.
