Letter I wrote to the person the caused me to be disfellowshipped
by jwfacts ina thread on another forum reminded me of a letter i wrote to the person that went to the elders and started the proceedings to have me disfellowshipped.
i stopped believing in the religion when i was 25 but continued going for about ten years.
i finally started to fade at 35, but about 6 months after i had stopped going to meetings, a person wrote a letter to the elders about my website, which at the time was anonymous.

Good letter, but you know how pompous and smug they are, he'll probably share it with some Uber Dub friends and they'll all say, "isn't that sad, he just doesn't understand because he left the truth"!

The effects of shunning on The View
by Rebecca 619 insheri sheppard spoke about this as a ex jw how it affects a person to be dfd,you feel like you loose your identity, its very difficult, i see my son struggling, i wish this practice can be done away with,so hurtful for everyone..

I think The View has their shows on their website, I heard Sherri mention that this morning, as she has a few times before. Her father was disfellowshipped and she's mentioned previously how much it hurt that she was not to scripturally speak to him.

While I agree that it should be a conscience decision, it's definitely not a spirituality mature decision .
SFPW - Are you really that mentally blind? Definitely not a spirituality mature decision, but of course, you're taking part on this apostate website is.
I'm sure you'll probably enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner, after you get back from field service of course, under the guise of "well, since they're on sale I decided to buy one".

SFPWl/ STFU you didn't even pay attention to your post above, you say ex-jws can't imagine lliving forever because they can't envision anything beyond this system of things. Who would know better than an XJW the drivel that's spewed out by the seven old guys in Brooklyn about the new system of things and how it will be paradise, no sickness, etc.. You might want to retract that statement.
BTW, since you probably pay for the Big A every night (and will no doubt be swept away by it like all us evil apostates here) let me ask you a question my mother told me that the Bible Study conductor asked everyone at the mtg one Thursday night, he went around the room asking everyone what kind of animal they would like to have as a pet living in their back yard in the new system, so, what would you like? Lion, elephant, alligators ?

Which vacation would the Society prefer a Witness take?
by LogCon inof the three following vacations, which one would the watchtower society prefer that a witness take?.
1 - a three week working volunteer vacation in bethlehem, to help the international palestinian youth league and the alternative information center, [ a joint palestinian and israeli activist organization] to turn a former israeli army base into a residential compound with a school, a hospital, a youth house and a series of gardens.. 2 - a three week working volunteer vacation to help the local food bank collect, stock and distribute food to the needy.
duties would include preparing tasty and nutritious meals for local residents including families.. 3 - a three week cruise from seattle to hawaii, enjoying all the amenities of the luxury liner, as well as seven days in hawaii enjoying the scenery, the restaurants and the hot, sandy beaches.. if you are able to make more detailed comments i would greatly appreciate it.

The Dubs take regular vacations with out hiding. I still get travel brochures for my mother from the Travel Agency located in Illinois that's run by a brother. Just got one in the mail this weekend, started to save the address to tell him he sending mail to a deceased person, but didn't bother.

No. 7 - Paying those that drive them to the meetings, the average publisher wouldn't know about that one, so I'm sure quite a few Bethelites let that one slide, my folks used to give them rides to the subway station or sometimes they would stop by before the meeting for lunch and of course get a ride to the KH, but even if they offered the money to my mother there's no way she would've taken it and I hop some others did the same since that would eat up that meager, vow of poverty allowance they get every month.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses keep track of field service hours?
by Faithful Witness ini understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?

Do you miss the sense of superiority?
by Diest inthis is and odd topic but there is a part of me that really misses feeling that i knew more about the world than 99.9% of the people.
i spent so many years in school being the odd person because of religion.
i embraced it to some extent.
