  Did you ever attend meetings while on vacation?

  i remember when i was a kid going on vacation somewhere with my family, my parents would always have to find out where the local kingdom hall was.

  god forbid we should miss a meeting because we were actually enjoying our time away from work and school..

  My mom did that a few times on vacay, what every kid looks forward to on family vacation. Well, I guess if we didn't go the KH in San Francisco the day after we arrived I guess I would'nt have had the experience of riding a cable car, that's how we got the KH . . . oh joy.

  But then again that was also my first experience of a speaker getting ill during his talk and the meeting still going on, the guy had an epileptic seizure, some of the brothers carried him to the back of the hall and needless to say the meeting still went on, they just started the WT study earlier than expected.

  I have an honest question!

  it's with regards to disfellowshipping.. is disfellowshipping a legal procedure?

  like is there something i can use to prevent this from happening to me if it does happen.. no jokes about me being a bad little boy.

  i need honest answers to this.

  ABibleStudent - No, they're not transitioning, they've always been a printing company as well as real estate company, you can't just wake up one day and decide to sell a few buildings in Brooklyn Heights (which is prime real estate in NYC) that you've owned for an eternity, they know what they're doing.

  she called last night to say it's online now, front page.

  it'll be in the print version sunday.. not everyone's cup of tea, at first consideration: she is slightly embarrassed to be featured in the modern love column in the style section.. the times people asked to make a short video of her article "fight or flight".

  they went to her bronx apartment to talk to her.

  Glad you pointed it out Humbled, I use the NYTimes as my homepage, but I usually don't pay that much attention to the Style Section unless something catches my eye. Interested to know how your daughter was approached to share her story, do have to know someone on the payroll or perhaps a freelance editor or something?

  When did the arrangement change from congregation servant to elders

  does anyone remember when the arrangement changed from having 1 congregation servant to the body of elders arrangement.. i have been out of the religion for so long i am getting a little rusty on the changes that happened.

  i am writing down my memoirs and right now i am recounting my teenage years as the daughter of a congregation servant.

  there was a big change in our family life when i was 15 because of the change in the arrangement.

  I remember that Rendezvous switch over too, that one didn't last too long!

  I wonder what the GBs were drinking that night went Jehovah spoke to them directly and said change the name of the Tuesday Night Study to rendezvous ? (I remember when it used to be called Area Study, what happened to that title?)

  Sarahsmile - Are you new to this site, this guy isn't new, remember the names, George, Miz, and not to long ago Stand for Pure Worship"? Same guy. don't sweat it he works for a pharmaceutical company and obviously has access to the firms "goods". He even used to post here under one of his many different names the kind of pill and liquor alcohol cocktails he used to mix. The interesting thing about it is he's an elder.

  I guess that pic was taken when they were havin' a few before they marched into the Bethel cafteria and posed for that pic with the Bethelites gathered around the Christmas tree, remember that picture that was in one of the Societys publications ?
