40,000 when folks, especially young folks are leaving, which means when they go they have no kids raise up in the cult and carry on the BS?
Somebody said that from the stage, or just some nosy pioneer elder wife trying to impress the others?
not sure where to post this, but the other day my jw mom says to me, 'the number is increasing they announced that we need 40,000 new kingdom halls'.
.
ok, who else has heard this, and how should i respond, other than to say well your cong is smaller now than it was 15 years ago..... where your growth?.

which of these activities did you hate/bothered you the most?
rank them from 1-5 with the most hated to the least.. .
field service.
Field Service for sure
Assemblies = boring, but when I was a kid it was all about the food (real food not spiritual) they used to serve for me.
one time, i heard a father in a meeting with married couples say `i sometimes have to smack my children a bit, but never in the face so as to not humiliate them.how beautiful!
he knows the sense of dignity!
he has to punish them but does it justly and moves on.

Nothing wrong with spanking if it's properly done.
how many people saw the saved by the bell reunion on the tonight show?
i completely forgot lark voorhies is a jw.
do you think being a jw was the real reason she didn't join the reunion?.
I had to laugh when I read that she wasn't there because of an intense work schedule. I think it's because she has mental issues and wasn't up to par for the reunion.
i recently went to a wedding and listened to the wedding talk at the kingdom hall the couple had both heard the talk before as they were both married in kingdom halls before.
this is his second time and her third.
the advice given.
Her third his second and they were allowed to have big wedding at the KH?
Is she one of those JW professional widows, as soon as the husband dies the wife takes the money and runs and finds another gullible brother to marry. I've heard of few cases where this happens.
i found this.
http://jwvictims.org/2014/02/05/seriously-why-cant-jehovahs-witness-women-wear-pants/.
seriously, why cant jehovahs witness women wear pants?.
I distinctly remember at Yankee Stadium, I think it was either 69 or 70, one of the speakers brought of the subject of women wearing pants and he said something to the effect of "if it gets them to the meetings then why not" and I also remember the applause that broke out after he said that. But I have to say I've never seen sisters start wearing them, at least at my KH after that statement.
i don't typically hear from my mom often, but i tell you, over the past couple of weeks, i have heard from her several times.
you heard the comment about "our way of worship will be altered" and thank you for your posts by the way....but yesterday, she calls and is asking about the kids and then, in typical jw fashion mind you, says:.
"you know, you should really get back to meetings.
My mom used to say the end is near also just about week when I was growing up in the 60's also. A few years before she passed in 2006 she changed up and said "we're on the fringe" of the BIg A, I wonder what she would say now? The fringe is pretty close to the end of anything.
Also the JWs do say they believe in the scripture that says no man knows the day nor hour, so why are they always saying the end is near? Ask your mom that and listen to her go around in circles trying to explain that one.
wife ended up sick this evening.
so i'm by myself because i have talk #3 and i didn't know she would be sick.
buzzing on 4 beers and 1 bourbon and coke.
Four beers, wow ! Hope you didn't burp! Which is what I did once after downing a few swallows before the meeting one time, that was years ago when my digestive tract was still in it's 20's, however, that burp, although silent, did give a major hint that I had a beer sometime during that evening.
Surprising that my elder dad didn't say anything about it since he was two seats away from me . . . oh, now I get it, he was probably counting the time till he could get home so he could pour his Johnny Walker Black Label. Which I can remember him doing since I was about 4 or 5, although he didn't come into da troof until I was a teenager, he tried to give it up, but just couldn't do it, like many others elders, who probably put forth the effort but found out most of congregation were drinking fools anyway.
we're all familiar with the organisations claims (and have seen the flow diagrams in books and mags) that the gb is "directed by god".
in turn, the local elders are "directed by god".
so, how exactly do they suppose this happens?
The question is how exactly does God communicate with the GB
In no shape or form does God communicate with 7 random old men in Brooklyn, case closed, that is of course unless they had a bit too much of the bubbly the night before they came up with such idiotic rules which their followers gladly adhere to without question.
