Someone please tell me why the guy in the picture feels the need to attend a political convention with that assault weapon strapped to him? Sad to say but this will probably be the first convention where someone might lose a life.

How the Bethel family responded to the bethel layoffs (profanity warning ***)
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think we can say many of those laid off no longer trust the governing body because of being lied to repeatedly over so many things.
things are getting very explosive at the governing body's home location kind of ties right in with being moved to a seriously pcp contamined chemical dump site, in fact bad karma has come to rest where ever these stupid lying clowns go.
these gbs are a bunch of real ass holes and they treat the faithful shit and expect them to just take it like a bunch of dummy drones.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8kuldpksze.

Yoga. Evil practice?
by Darkknight757 inas our fade continues, the wife and i have decided to take up "the forbidden practice of.......yoga"!!!!😱.
i was quite skeptical at first but so far it has really de-stressed our life in quite a spectacular way!!
not to mention the physical benefits.. anyone else try yoga or a similar discipline?

Just an interesting side note, a while ago Venus and Serena had a short lived reality show. I remember the one where Venus was being persuaded by her trainer to try Yoga and every time the trainer alluded to it Venus kept saying "my religion doesn't allow it' or "I can't do it because of my religion"! She was so spot on to turn down the offer to Yoga but if you asked her what was last weeks Watchtower about she wouldn't have a clue. I bet she hasn't stepped foot into KH for years, but still defends the name for some reason

NYC cart people
by lrkr ini recently started working on a project in manhattan- in a very nice neighborhood.
just want to share a few observations on the cart witnesses in this area.. this is an area flush with dinero.
so every respectable non profit is out there hustling for donations.

What scratchme said, those carts just give them time to sit out there and run there mouths catching up on the latest KH gossip OR as I've noticed they're glued to their cellphones.

It won’t be much longer now.
by Tameria2001 ina couple weeks back my husband got a phone call from his brother, whom he hasn’t spoken to in nearly 17 years.
well i take that back, he did speak to him at the family reunion, asking him to leave.
my husband basically told him to f off, he would leave when he’s darn good and ready, but he didn’t use the word darn.

Helped with fathers funeral, helped with arranging care for my mother - then SHUNNED again!!
by EssexBoy1 inwell i have not been on this site for ages - so long that i had forgotten my username etc and have had to start again!.
anyway briefly - bought up in 'the truth', baptised at 18, married at 21, had kids, got divorced, remarried, disfellowshipped 15 years ago.. parents and brother shun me.. early last year father very ill, calls me.
i arrange to visit him in hospital.
-

YOur brother can't keep you from visiting your mother, what I would do to spite him would try to figure out what time he visits your mom and try to get there first and see what he does. You're not a violent person and causing her any harm when you visit, so if your brother complains to the staff you can't visit him because of "religious reasons" they should call the psych unit at the hospital and/or keep an eye on him when he comes for his visits.

I remember Peggy Lee, I remember she even performed in front of the crowds sitting down and hooked up to her oxygen tank. I wonder if her daughter is still alive, I'll look at WIkipedia later and see if they mention her daughter.

The 1975 Generation---are they still around?
by minimus ini was raised as a jw and 1975 expectations were pretty intense.
as i recall, most people did not leave after the failed expectations but many s l o w e d down.
now, i think most of the 1975 witnesses are gone or barely in.. is the older generation still around in the kingdom halls or are they much gone?.
-
ShirleyW
I would think so, the teenagers in the congregations back then would be the ones left from that time. I graduated from high school in 1975, so my peers I grew up with who are still in and there are quite a few, are still around from those years, but most of our parents who thought they would be in paradise now have already passed away

We should've already had flying cars, remember The Jetsons? During the World's Fair here in NYC in 1964-1967 where they had a pavillion that looks just like the Jetson House which is still standing by the way on the Fair's grounds, weren't we supposed to be living that way since the early 2000's?
Even Saturday Night Live did a skit in it's first year during the mid-70's called Jeopardy 2000 where everything was "Jetsonesque".
